If you are a woman/girl, and don’t play a drum, if you sing or not, or were told or told yourself that you lacked the ear, rhythm, focus and/or self-confidence, Dar Brooklyn is For You!
This is a class for complete beginners that will walk you from nothing to being able to perform within a few weeks time.
We’ll learn to sing and drum North-African folk (Chaabi) songs, and we’ll perform a show for our loved ones in the fall. We’ll offer a repertoire of songs on immigration and love.
You can join Singing or Drumming or Both.

2. My Natural Pet ACC Mobile Adoption Event. Dogs, Cats, Puppies and Kittens. 12:00 – 4:00 pm outside of 8313 – 5th Avenue
3. Coney Island at West 10th Boardwalk – Brooklyn Beach Sports Festival – free to participate. Children need parents present. Register at the site at 8:00 am. This event is all day 9 am -5 pm.
4. Coney Island Sand Sculpting Competition from 12 – 4 pm.
5. John De La O, an artist from Bay Ridge will have a exhibit called “The Life.” He will show this at Irish Haven from 6 pm – 11 pm. Irish Haven is at 5721 4th Avenue. John’s work uses portrait, collage elements, pop culture, and various influences from his diverse New York City upbringing.
6. Pushing 60’s will perform at Schnitzel Haus – 7 PM
