Malliotakis Said “We’ll See You In Court” After Mayor Adams Agreed to Green Card Holders Voting

On January 1st, Mayor Eric Adams told NYC that he had concerns about non-citizens voting in NYC. (See Post Article)

Today, Eric Adams backed the bill. (See here and here)

The Mayor of NYC took an oath to uphold the Constitution of NYS last week.

NYS’s Constitution outlines that only citizens can vote. (See here)

NYC Politicians who know the Constitution would object to green card holders voting. Maybe politicians should take a test before taking the oath so they understand what they are promising to uphold.
Even NY Election law says that only citizens can vote: (page 140)

The word citizen is mentioned 51 times in NYS’s Election Law – see here
Politicians should be helping people become citizens and fix the broken immigration system.

In the past, Senator Gounardes ranted on social media about the Constitution (see here).
Now Gounardes is silent and hasn’t spoke up about the Constitution because that would tell a lot of Democrats, they were wrong. To uphold the Constitution means you defend it. Gounardes is an attorney and had to taken classes in Constitution law.
Congresswoman Nicole Malliotakis didn’t miss a beat on Saturday evening – she said clearly what was wrong and “We’ll see you in Court.” She likes her job and she doesn’t mind working on the weekend.

Malliotakis’ office has also helped people become citizens this year.
We saw Malliotakis win in 2020 with the restaurant owners in court. They sued the governor over stopping indoor dining in NYC.

Hugs,
marlene
