Two Brooklyn Police Officers Were Fired

In 2017, 68th Precinct Police Officer, Sanad Musallam was labeled a “hero police officer” in the news for saving a senior citizen from a home invasion. (See here)
On March 25, 2021, Musallam and Officer Yasar Shohatee were fired for their alleged conduct in 2015 and 2016. (See Police Document here and the news: here, here and here)
**Captain Tolson didn’t mention this. While this happened when Captain Conwell was in charge of the precinct, the officer were just fired this Spring, so it should have been something Captain Tolson shared with the community. This shouldn’t be a question people have to ask!
The officers were not criminally charged because the newspaper reported that the young woman refused to cooperate with the DA’s office and prosecutors. (See here)
SO AWFUL. The poor young woman, who trusted these officers. (See here)
Even sadder is the teen had been a member of the Explorer’s Program in 2015 and the Spring of 2016. (See here)
Why did it take so long for this information to come out?
Hugs,
marlene
