Why Doesn’t the 68th Precinct Have a Gun Buy Back in Bay Ridge?
Attorney General, Leticia James collected 79 firearms at a Queens Buy Back event this weekend. (See here)
A buy back event is when gift cards and ipads or Chromebooks are offered in exchange for guns – no questions asked.
I’ve heard some “know-it-all” politicians say that buy back programs don’t work. If they got 70 guns off the streets in Queens, that looks like buyback programs work!
Bay Ridge and the surrounding areas have not had one of these events.
Why? This is a great opportunity for someone to get rid of a weapon or get one out of their home.
The area has a Moms Demand Action group and they have never pushed for a buy back??
