Salty Dog’s Outdoor Dining Setup Removed?
A few nights ago, we heard that there was a lot of commotion outside of The Salty Dog.
Apparently, their outdoor dining area was blocking the hydrant, so it was removed by the city.
HERE’S THE STRANGE PART: Salty Dog had this setup all year. People had been enjoying their outdoor space for a long time! Why did the city all of a sudden come for it now?
Some businesses get stuck with the hydrant in front of their place. Some businesses get a corner spot where they can setup on both the avenue and the side street as well.
Luckily, the weather is beautiful, Salty Dog set up their tables outside for Bay Ridge to kick back and enjoy themselves (and indoor dining is back as well.)
Salty Dog is at 7509 3rd Avenue in Bay Ridge.

Still wish you would give addresses, or at least street #s, for every business you mention. Bay Ridge is huge and points of reference help us learn about places outside our immediate vicinity. Can’t help businesses grow if we don’t know who/where they are.

With dining allowed inside and their huge garage door front they don’t need to be blocking the fire hydrant. Isn’t their clientele largely FDNY and NYPD? Maybe they weren’t comfortable with the hydrant being blocked all along but let it go during the shutdown.
