Brannan Wants Another Taskforce To Fool You

Justin Brannan thinks being our representative means fooling us with by forming “tasks forces.” We elected Brannan to do the research and make a decision.
Brannan thinks presenting the idea of a taskforce is leadership! (See article) It’s laziness and it is what has slowed down progress in NYC.
Leadership would have been fixing this government building and getting families in there! Instead this building sits empty and collects graffiti.

Community funds are given to groups which should be raising their own money at this point!
FIAO is a private club where people pay dues! While they may run some programs, I don’t think the local councilmen coordinated and FIAO received a lot more.

And you too, Arab American Association!

When NYC Council and the local councilmen underfunded the food pantry on New Utrecht Avenue, the manager of the place tweeted that it had to turn people away, I asked FIAO and the Arab American Association to help…..neither responded. The pastor at a local church brought a check to the pantry!
Both FIAO and the AAA serve a portion of this community, but not a majority. These organizations should receive some money – but not that much!
Brannan has not done a think to help the homeless, unless you consider counting homeless people once a year leadership! (See here)
Brannan’s Property Tax Commission idea di absolutely nothing but delay property tax reform. For three years we have heard Brannan claim “it’s coming.” It isn’t coming!
We have been duped by a professional politician.
Nothing needed to be investigated in property taxes. The property tax office has all the records and they are online. Everyone can see the uneven taxes.
The Property Tax Commission allowed Brannan to tell home owners something was going to happen soon…..but more than a year later, nothing happened.
Don’t be fooled by: “It’s delayed by Covid.” No one in NYC was laid off, so they could have easily gotten this done while they worked from home.
Brannan’s obsession with the media is obvious in today’s article. He hasn’t even presented the new task force, but he ran to the news to tell them that his bill will be submitted tomorrow. See:

The article states that real estate groups have voiced support for this. Who does Brannan work for? Who should he be working for.
Before you vote for this Spring, look around – Does Bay Ridge look better than it did 3 years ago? NO.
When Justin Brannan took office in 2018, he introduced a bill for drones because lobbyists wanted it. (See bill) During the Pandemic, Brannan fought for the lobbyist bill – not for Bay Ridge and Dyker Heights. (See here)
We have been here before, Bay Ridge. It’s time to elect regular people who want to help the community and not career politicians.
Hugs,
marlene
