As a Pandemic Rages, Gounardes Wants NYS to Talk About Redistricting and Voting

Now that the New York State Senate is mostly Democrats, they want to keep it like that.
While the Pandemic rages throughout the world and other legislatures are doing things to help people and businesses that have fallen on hard times, NYS senators reconvened and started talking about voting and drawing new district lines.
Here’s what they voted on:

Are these elected officials clueless about how many more homeless people are on the streets of NYC? Do they realize businesses are closing every week because they are going bankrupt trying to stay open?
Here’s Bay Ridge’s closures.

Redistricting will allow politicians, like Gounardes to get rid of Republican areas like Marine Park and allow more people to like him.

Andrea Cousins, the Head of the Senate doesn’t care that Bay Ridge Businesses are closing. Her main push is voter reform during the pandemic. #OutOfTouch

Democrat Majority Leader, Senator Ginarris also doesn’t show any understanding of the Pandemic happening by his focus. (See here)
During the last election, Gounardes had many donations from Park Slope. That community pays less than twice the property tax of our area, so they want Gounardes to keep fumbling on the topic of property taxes because it benefits them.

On January 8th, Gounardes resumed his “Open Thread” on Twitter. He asks people to tell them issues they are having. People responded and five days later, no one has received a response. #NotOneResponse
Gounardes employs a large staff and not one could be bothered responding to the people who wrote in! See here #NothingNew
We have the wrong person in office. Local papers won’t tell you the truth – they just keep printing the politicians press releases.

Politicians have one interest — keeping the job they have and positioning themselves for their next (higher up) position. Well, that’s two — and there is a third — hearing themselves talk.

It’s such a joke. I watched the entire session. The people of this state voted overwhelmingly for independent redistricting in 2014. The democrats are now trying to side step that and just keep using the line “well the republicans did it worse 10 years ago.” It was wrong then, but do 2 wrongs make it right? Mike Gianaris (Andrew’s Master) is 100% behind this and obviously holds ill feelings all these years cause of the way the republicans treated him. Not to mention his pissing match with Cuomo in 2019 over Amazon.
I called it last year, watch Gounardes take a hard turn left as soon as they take Marine Park and Gerristen Beach out of his district. In 2 years Andrew Gounardes has been nothing but a rubber stamp for every piece of legislation the majority puts forward. Has he ever sided against them on anything? He certainly couldn’t take a stand when they capped property taxes for 57 other counties. We are served poorly by this guy.

I wouldn’t mind if the politician wanted to work and keep that position. When the politician just wants to do the same thing as the last guy and plaster us with press releases – then I mind.

And Malliotakis’ first act in congress (besides voting to overturn the election) was to co-sponsor a bill “requiring” Cuba to “transition away” from Castro. Something she have no control over and which does absolutely nothing for her district. Will you be writing a scathing critique of her as well?

I didn’t hear anything about this bill – thank you for sharing the info!
I’m not surprised Malliotakis did that as she is a first generation American and was raised with the belief that she should help Cuba.
I’ve had a lot of Malliotakis news this week so it will have to wait until the weekend – when I can give it the proper research and outrage.
