Governor Cuomo called for NYC to end indoor dining at all restaurants on Monday, Bay Ridge fights back with a Bite Back Bay Ridge group! (See here)

Most residents in the area are sympathetic with restaurant owners. Some are not, but that’s more about differences in politics.

Residents are encouraging others to eat great food at restaurants throughout the area. They are showing photos of recent visits and food deliveries.

Restaurant owners don’t understand while they are losing indoor dining when they have been careful during the pandemic. Only 1.43% of the Covid spread is due to restaurants (see here)

Cuomo presented this slide showing most of the spread was due to family gatherings – almost 74% (see story)

NYC’s positivity rate is 5.53% There were 206 hospitalizations yesterday. There are 16 million new cases of COVID-19 throughout the world. On Friday there was 3300 deaths from COVID-19.

    Hi Marlene.

I love your blog and all you do for our community with it.

Regarding saving our neighborhood restaurants, I enjoyed dining outside all summer and fall and I order delivery frequently from numerous BR restaurants. (Shockingly I know), I’m not on Facebook so can’t contribute to BiteBackBayRidge.

We can’t order from our restaurants TOO frequently during the pandemic, right? I’m helping the restaurants survive, not being lazy about cooking, right? ?. I especially love that, for example, when I order from Las Margaritas (one of my personal neighborhood faves), I can get margaritas delivered with my food. And ordering alcohol is at least as helpful to our restaurants as ordering food.

One thing that I wasn’t clear about that I think would be helpful to some restaurants if you could publicize it on your blog is their delivery hours. For example, I order often from the Fort Hamilton Diner on the corner of 95th St and 4th Ave. I think a lot of people don’t realize that, although we couldn’t eat inside the diner after 10pm (and now not at all), THEY ARE STILL DELIVERING 24-7. I verified this with them recently while I was ordering burgers and turkey clubs and this makes them my automatic safety net go-to restaurant for later delivery. I wonder whether there are any other restaurants in our neighborhood that deliver after 10pm. I’m thinking that Nino’s probably still delivers after 10 and maybe Mandato. But the Fort Hamilton Diner I’m sure about.

It would be great if you could say a few words on your blog about our restaurants that are still delivering after 10.

    Stay well, my neighbor,
    Caryl
