Bay Ridge See the Market Value of Bezo’s Apartment
The headlines said that Jeff Bezos bought a new apartment in Manhattan – Good for him. I love Amazon and it’s nice to get a new place.
Although the apartment cost $16 million, his market value is $1,403,746
The market value of my home is:
Our home is a regular house – even on a good day it would not get anywhere near that price.
No one in Bay Ridge/Dyker Heights can get help because Mayor de Blasio won’t give up his property tax break. The people we have in office are his friends and won’t fight for us.
Senator Andrew Gounardes told me last Spring he had “an idea” when I saw he hadn’t done anything about property taxes.
The NYS Senate session ended and the bill was never heard because Gounardes didn’t put it in early enough.
This year, Senator Gounardes said, “I am waiting on the property tax commission.” The mayor and Corey Johnson’s group released an incomplete report and Gounardes DID NOTHING.
Even while the coronavirus was happening, Gounardes said, “Property taxes next week.” And that just disappeared.
