Why is Andrew Gounardes Asking For Our Vote, When He Hasn’t Done His Job?
Yesterday, a Gounardes supporter asked me if I still thought Andrew Gounardes was a good person.
I said, “No, he’s a politician – just like the others.”
Why is Andrew Gounardes asking people to vote for him when he doesn’t want to represent them?
Brad Lander and Bill de Blasio continue to get a property tax break. Yesterday, Lander showed up in Bay Ridge for Gounardes’ kick-off party because Lander supports Gounardes not doing anything on property taxes.
Eight months ago, I couldn’t find his office and I would consider myself pretty connect to the Internet and politicians. I wanted to speak to him about his override of Community Board 10 and I just got machines and empty offices. I don’t see that being any different for a senior in our area as Gounardes works out of Brannan’s old office and didn’t bother to purchase a sign. When a parent walked in to talk to Brannan last month, Gounardes’ staff didn’t offer her help – they told her Brannan’s new office address.
This community knows the politics of Mark Treyger. In the last election, Gounardes club, The Bay Ridge Democrats refused Treyger’s candidate instead of who the people wanted – Mathylde Frontus. What changed? Nothing for Bay Ridge, except Andrew Gounardes became a sellout politician.
Finally, Mike Ginaris showed up yesterday. Ginaris is leading a group of senators in changing the bail law that was made in the Senator. Ginaris knows Gounardes is not part of that group. Twenty blocks away from this pol party a woman was sexually assaulted – her attacker was led out do to the changes in bail reform. She wasn’t mentioned yesterday because she is no one to these politicians.
