BROOKLYN INSHALLAH – There was no Inshallah.

A documentary called Brooklyn Inshallah is coming out in November.  It’s the story of El-Yateem running for City Council. Yes, this is the second documentary on the topic. (Info on first here)

The movie, Brooklyn Inshallah claims to be about “Identity Politics.”  Do you think Ahmed Mansour will tell the real story behind Father El-Yateem’s election?   We lived through it, so we know the truth.

Will Ahmed Mansour share what journalist, Kadia Goba revealed about the money? (See here)  Mansour features Linda Sarsour in the video. Sarsour  didn’t say anything when Kadia Goba’s story came out.

Will Ahmed Mansour show that El Yateem claimed to love Bernie Sanders, but he didn’t bother getting an absentee ballot to vote for Sanders?  Info here.

Most of all, will anyone tell the truth about the Bay Ridge Breakfast Club (see here) and how people thought that meeting once a year to eat breakfast would help a community.  Since that task force, our community has been plagued by politicians with these “task forces” that don’t do anything and just exist in name so pols can write something that sounds good on election flyers.

During the election, El-Yateem’s election team took aim at his opponent.  In June 2019, El-Yateem’s chief of staff took a job working for the man who beat El-Yateem, Councilman Justin Brannan. (See here) It’s all politics my friends.

We are glad there was no Inshalllah, as we felt El-Yateem was interested in advancing BDS.  We believe his support of BDS is what made him lose the election, but there were other reasons as well. Election results – see here

El-Yateem is in Florida having a good life so things turned out as they were supposed to.  (See here)  Why did Mansour wait years later to tell the story? Did he think the community would forget all of those things? If  you are part of this community speak the truth into it – even if the truth isn’t pretty or ideal – it’s still the truth.

Hugs,
marlene

That young woman in the blue blazer is an awesome human being who has a huge heart and is very active in Bay Ridge both as a community figure AND a small business owner. Why does it matter that she took a job with Justin? She is awesome! :)
