NYPD Doesn’t Meet South Brooklyn’s Needs
Councilman Justin Brannan and Community Board 10 Manager, Josephine Beckmann are two amazing people. They wrote this Op-Ed for Bklyner.
Beckmann has asked for help before this year and she was turned down because the NYPD refuses to listen. This situation has been going on for a few years and it’s like the NYPD closes it’s eyes when Christmas comes around. See last year’s reporting – here.
Now here’s the real issue: We have a Community Affairs police officer, why didn’t he call for more help for the area? It’s like there is such a disconnect between the 68th Precinct and the community.
Maybe it’s not a top priority for security, but why weren’t NCO’s all over that area. Why didn’t the NCO’s stop commercial traffic from entering these streets. Huge buses don’t belong on residential streets.
Hugs,
marlene
