The New York Times Endorsed Andrew Gounardes
First the The Daily News endorsed Andrew Gounardes, now The New York Times editors endorsed Gounardes over Golden because Andrew Gounardes will bring reform to Albany.
The New York Times referred to some of Golden’s work as “questionable actions in recent years.” (Yeah no kidding)
They pointed out that Golden’s car has ticketed 38 times in five years, including one day in 2015 when it was cited for speeding through a school zone three times. The New York Times didn’t like that Marty spent almost $800,000 in campaign money over the years on his brother’s catering business.
And the New York Times cited Andrew Gounardes’ clean background as an Eagle Scout and community activist. Gounardes wants to strengthen rent regulations and push to get commuter representatives on the Metropolitan Transportation Authority board. He would pass the so-called red flag bill, allowing guns to be confiscated from people, including students, who have shown they may pose a threat of violence.
Hugs,
