Best Dim Sum Near Bay Ridge

 

Dim sum is inexpensive food that comes in small plates for people to share. Waitresses (sometimes called Dim Sum Ladies) walk around the restaurant with carts containing bamboo containers of the different types of  dim sum (like pork buns and shrimp dumplings)

 

 

 

Great Dim Sum places nearby in Brooklyn:

 

Park Asia 6521 – 8th Avenue – snow white buns – gets crowded right before 10 am. Around 10-11 am they bring out a lot of different choices for dim sum. I went right after they renovated. Most of the staff doesn’t speak English (that doesn’t bother us as I like pointing), but the manager kept an eye on us and kept coming over to check on us and offer us different dim sum plates (in a good way – not in an annoying way)

 

East Harbor Seafood Palace   714 65th Street – *gets very busy because Anthony Bourdain visited this place in 2009 and made it popular. The food is good, but I really loved Park Asia and the manager’s service.

 

Bamboo Garden – I have never gone here, but heard it has good dim sum. Many people go here when East Harbor Seafood (above) is packed. I was told to look for the carts with the following: roast pork pastry, lobster with ginger and scallion, scallops in brown sauce beef chow fun (non-dry version) and shrimp dumplings. Durian cart pastries (little pigs) *Has a lot of vegetarian carts.
Pacific Pacificanaa (a restaurant on top of Chase) 813 – 44th Street and 8th Avenue CLOSED  Smaller plates of food
