Solar Panel Info Session in Bay Ridge 9/4
![]()
There’s a solar panel infomation session at The Owls Head 479 74th Street on September 4th at 7:00 pm. (https://www.facebook.com/events/679922959040775/)
A few homeowners in Bay Ridge are planning to join a group-purchase of solar PV installations, and Brooklyn Solar Works will be holding the infomation session for anyone who may be interested. If you bring your Con Edison bill, they are buying you the first drink.
One homeowner with a typical 800 sq flat roof on a attached limestone said it would cost around $3000 up front. There are tax breaks: the federal tax break, the NYC tax break and the NYS incentive.
The company is providing an incentive for group purchasers: If there are 5-9 people, each home in the group gets a $50 per panel on their system. If there are 10-14 people, each home gets $75 per panel and if there’re 14+ people, each person gets $100 per panel.
I would love to get solar panels, but my husband has said no because he doesn’t want holes in John Roggenkamp’s strong roof. Lee doesn’t like two things: candles and holes in the roof.
(BTW – Roggenkamp Roofing is at 576 76th Street 718-680-1217…..someone always asks me about the company)
Hugs,
marlene
