September 26, 2020Who is Justin Brannan Representing Now?
Justin Brannan continues to push a drone bill – even now during the pandemic. (Story here)
I can’t find one person in Bay Ridge who needs this drone bill. (See 2018 NYC Council bill)
Interestingly, Crain’s NY article points to Tech NYC, the city’s industry lobbying group, and the DJI Technology, a Chinese company that is the world’s largest manufacturer of drones backing this bill. (See here)
No article has ever pointed to these lobbyists! (Excellent report by Ryan Defenbaugh)
When I looked up NYC developers drones:
![]()
At the end of last year, Brannan and Eric Adams were pushing the bill. See here
Neither man has the authority to speak on this topic.
But lobbyists make the politicians dance!
In addition, The Real Estate Board of New York backs this. Hello REBNY – it’s so nice to see you again. (Justin Brannan used to tell us how terrible it was that other politicians in our area were involved with REBNY).
Drones haven’t been made legal because:
“Currently there is no way for officials to identify the owner of a given drone or to track the location of drones that have been registered by a particular person. Even airports and power plants currently lack the legal authority to track drones.” (Source)
This is why things don’t get done in Bay Ridge.
Justin Brannan submitted this bill within the first 30 days he was a Councilman in 2018. He’s been rallying for it for 2.75 years with press releases and pressers. FOR WHO? See here

September 26, 2020Malliotakis’ Mother Wrote a Letter
Why are politician’s parents writing letters to residents?
Nicole just stood with the Bay Ridge and Staten Island Restaurant owners and helped them get their businesses opened. Nicole should have the restaurant owners write a letter – the community supports these business owners and recognizes Malliotakis’ persistence.
I don’t understand why Malliotakis would have her mother send a letter.
Remember when Michael Grimm’s mother wrote a letter? (See Here)
