JJ’s Christmas Trees – 13th Avenue and 86th Street

Every year, Christmas trees are sold at The Knights of Columbus on 86th Street and 13th Avenue (1305 – 86th Street) every year.

Few people know that this is JJ’s Christmas Trees. 718-232-5569

Many people in Bay Ridge go to JJ’s because he has the freshest trees that last the longest. We think it has to do with the way they are cut (the trees easily drink the water in the pan)

There is an out si

While JJ’s has all the trees and wreaths in the parking lot of the Knights of Columbus, the real magic is indoors.

JJ’s has a lot of unique Christmas decorations indoors. He has lights, garland and everything you need to decorate your tree and home.

Happy Tree Shopping and Decorating Bay Ridge!

Pandemic Trick-Or-Treating

Happy Halloween Bay Ridge!

Last month, I asked Lee to make a candy countertop to go across the staircase, so kids could get their candy safely. I didn’t want their parents to worry about them being near people.

We didn’t do a chute because you have to stay there all afternoon.

With this, we can just keep loading it up when it gets empty.

At night, we usually have older kids who like glowsticks.

This amazing neighbor in Bay Ridge did a pill the string to get candy chute (click the pick to see it):

Kitty Kieran’s has a Halloween Trick-or-Treat tree. Awesome idea James!

“Get Pizza and Goodies” when Voting in Bay Ridge – WHY?

Why would an elected official tell people : “If you are coming to vote early at Fort Hamilton HS, we have a Pizza to the polls truck giving out snacks and goodies.”

Senator Gounardes, who took money from a developer (see article where this was shared) told people on social media, “if you are coming to vote at Fort Hamilton High school, they can get snacks and goodies. See his tweet

Then Justin Brannan shared that he brought donuts to the voters:

I don’t understand how this is allowed. The federal law says nothing can be used to influence voting – see law here

That’s odd that a politician would tell someone to get something while voting.

On the first day of voting, a group giving out pizza was thoughtful. (Pizza To the Polls). There are no lines like that now – it’s fast – in and out voting now.

In 2017, when a Republican gave out cookie tins to polling workers, Bay Ridge activists went CRAZY and it became known as COOKIEGATE. See here.

Another person shared that there was free pizza.

Brannan retweeted it. See here

Free….nothing is free.

Robbery and Assault Near Drug House in Dyker Heights

Dyker Heights had to start the day with this:

Around 11:30 am this morning, a man was robbed and assaulted in Dyker Heights – near 8422 – 12th Avenue.

Look the other way politicians didn’t do anything when Dyker Heights residents complained about drug houses in their neighborhood.

This incident happened right near the known drug home!

The 68th Precinct towered vehicles on 7th Avenue and Poly Place again. They also towed some on 86th Street.

The area continues to be filled up with these vehicles.

At least the Captain at the 68th Precinct is trying to clear the area.
