Hawk Flew into Starbucks
A hawk flew into Starbucks in Bay Ridge to get a good drink.
A kind Bay Ridge resident brought the hawk to Sean Casey Animal Rescue. At Sean Casey’s, they referred her to bring the hawk to the Wild Bird Fund in Manhattan.
The Wild Bird Fund shared the picture above and Bay Ridge residents cheered!
The Wild Bird Fund wrote: “This red-shouldered hawk joins a Cooper’s and a redtail in our immature hawk concussion ward. It’s that time of year when these young birds get into trouble while passing through town. This one hit a window in Brooklyn but was alert enough for an intimidation pose.”

We are in a pandemic, but tour buses are still allowed to travel through Dyker Heights. Last night residents complained of gridlock in the neighborhood.
The weather was warm and it brought out many locals, as well as many others to see the holiday lights. Horns were honking as residents weren’t able to get out of their driveways.
As usual, residents were not able to get help from those who represent the area.

December 11, 2020On Pointe in Brooklyn Announced It’s Closing
On Pointe in Brooklyn is a dancewear supply store at 7207 – 3rd Avenue.
The store opened in March 2019 and announced it was closing today.
The reason it opened in Bay Ridge was because there was a demand for a store that sold toe shoes and leotards since many children take dance classes in Bay Ridge.
They will be open through the holidays.
Most of the children’s dance studios are closed due to Covid-19. Dance classes are taking place virtually and we see a few teachers teaching outside.
