Assemblyman Found a Brooklyn Hotel Turned Migrant Shelter is Now a NYC Homeless Shelter
Assemblyman Michael Novakhov found that a Sleep Inn Hotel Sheepshead Bar that had been a migrant shelter was not turned into a homeless shelter.
Under Eric Adams, the migrant shelters were supposed to change back to regular hotels. Hotels are not supposed to be used for homeless shelters in NYC any longer.

I went to the Sleep Inn Hotel in Sheepshead Bay today because the silence from the city is unacceptable.

Assemblyman Novakhov asked one of the staff members if he could book a room at the Sleep Inn Hotel, The staffer says he can’t book a room because it is a homeless shelter.

Police Release SUPER BLURRY Suspect’s Picture From 3/21 Robbery on 86th Street in Bay Ridge
Why are the police releasing a low quality image like the one above. This is on this social media post: https://shorturl.at/bDgPQ
No one is going to be able to identify the thief because it’s too unclear. Where is all of our tax money going to?
Our area is not being maintained if camera images look like that. Even $40 cameras produce better images.
On March 21st at 7:16 pm, a 45-year-old father with a stroller was approached by a thief outside of PC Richards at 576 – 86th Street.
They had a verbal dispute. Then the thief punched the head in the head and stole his phone.

Twenty-Eight Days After a Woman Was Forcibly Touched on 15th Ave. The Police Told Us About it
Why did the 62nd Precinct not share this information earlier?
On Friday, March 6, 2026, at 10:50 P.M., a 33-year-old woman was walking on 64th Street and 15th Avenue. She was approached by the man above, who forcibly touched the victim and exposed himself.

Hit and Run on 87th Street in Bay Ridge
A vehicle was hit on 87th Street between Ridge and Colonial Road between last night (4/2) and early this morning (4/3).
If anyone in the area saw anything or has security/doorbell camera footage from that time frame, the owner would appreciate it.

RIP Cherry Cayetano Sobel – Mom Killed By Maimonides Ambulance Driver in Midwood
Cherry Cayetano Sobel, a 44-year-old mother and nurse was hit by a Maimonides Medical Center ambulance driver on Ocean Avenue in Brooklyn on Thursday, April 2nd at 6:40 am. Cherry was on the way to work. https://shorturl.at/ahzvR
The driver did not stop. The two EMTs have been suspended while this is being investigated. “Detectives believe that the driver likely did not realize the vehicle had hit a person.” Source:

Bay Ridge Man Arrested for Robbing a Bank
Vincenzo Randazzo, 59 robbed Empire State Bank on 18th Ave. and 70th Street in Bensonhurst on March 5th. His girlfriend used to work there and the other employees remembered Vincenzo. News:

The FBI arrested him at his Bay Ridge apartment on March 17th. They found four handguns and more than $2,800 in cash from the robbery,

Wheels Taken on 10th Avenue and 85th Street
Imagine haven’t to come out to your vehicle looking like this on Easter weekend? This happened on 85th Street and 10th Avenue.
We don’t need any more speed cameras, we need security cameras that the community can use and alert the police. A few cameras and some signs about the new security will deter some thieves.
There are a lot of people in Dyker Heights who would be interested in keeping an eye on their neighborhood. (When men went down a manhole, a Dyker Heights neighbor watched the manhole on her camera for hours!)
