Gus Constantellis is a first generation Greek America who was born and raised in Bay Ridge!

Gus has been making people laugh during the pandemic with his funny “Greek Mom” videos.

Constantellis’ use of the topics of his Mother and Greece are because both he is very connected to his family and Greek roots.

His videos are light-hearted and maybe one day he and his mother will do a cooking show together. Everyone loves when he shares videos of his mother because she is funny and cute! It’s obvious she prepares huge Greek feasts because she loves her family! (See videos)

Dyker Heights Man Arrested – Warehouse with Counterfeit Masks

The news has a pretty big story about a Queens Warehouse that was storing 1.7 million counterfeit 3M N-95 masks.

How awful! Can you imagine if someone got COVID-19 while wearing one of these masks and died. UGH so awful.

The warehouse manager was arrested. Zhi Zeng is 33 years old and from 85th Street in Dyker Heights. (Info here) He’s the manager.

Maybe he didn’t know they were counterfeit masks.

See the story here, here and here.

Attempted Break in At Charmed By JLM Boutique on 3rd Avenue

Charmed by JLM Boutique is at 8311 3rd Avenue. Last April. Charmed was broken into and robbed. (See here) And last night another attempt to rob this store and another happened.

We could say it over and over – we need police on the streets – not NCOs. The politicians here are silent because they either voted for bail reform to to defund the police.

If you were in the NYPD, would you want to work with someone who took a leadership role in discussing defunding the NYPD?

We need new representation, who can work with the police. We don’t need more businesses being robbed and owners feeling like they would be better in another neighborhood.

People are going to continue robbing the area because people are not being held in jail and there aren’t enough consequences.

What to Do If a City Council Member Blocks You on Facebook or Twitter?

Councilman Brannan blocked a local resident. Brannan should know better as this is the law (see here) and Brannan saw another politician do that nonsense a few years ago.

Since Brannan blocked her from the page where he posts City Council information, she was able to write to:

[email protected]

A few hours later, she was unblocked and could see the Facebook page again.
