Welcome Kimchi Kooks Kate’s Kitchen

Kimchi Kooks – Kate’s Kitchen is a new Korean Restaurant in Bay Ridge.

This new Korean Take-out shop opened at 119 Bay Ridge Avenue. (Their website)

Many people are going to be glad to hear this news because they miss the restaurant on 3rd Avenue, Kimchee. Even better news: A Ridgite went there and said the food was fantastic!

Congratulations Kate!

This shop is open this week from 1-5pm, Tuesday through Friday.

They serve a take-away Korean menu daily with vegan options!

They also sell jars of kimchi and a variety of freshly made Banchan and Yangnyeom. I don’t know what these last two are, but we are going to stop in soon to try them!

This store is next to Rocky’s and Nicky’s Pizzeria. It used to be a restaurant called Hot Wok. (See here)

Good luck to this new shop. I think it will be very successful here in Bay Ridge!!

Riis Beach Parking Increased by 100%

If you go to Jacob Riis Park in Queens, you will see that the parking is now $20 a car. It used to be $10 per car. Covid must have caused the increase, as there were less people at the beaches. (More info here)

You can buy a season pass for $100 for most vehicles – so that’s a deal if you go during the Summer.

The season pass is sold Monday to Friday only.

If you want a better rate, bring a senior citizen with you and it will be half price!

What Did the Politician Say to the Parade Organizer?

When the Republican and Conservative Party chooses a candidate to run for office, they should choose someone who likes talking and helping people.

At the park today, Mark Szuszkiewicz, NYC Council candidate for District 47 got called out for playing politics. (See video above)

Mark’s response is RUDE!

WHO SPEAKS LIKE THAT?!

This is just another reason why new District Leaders are needed!!

Commotion at 89th Street and 5th Avenue in Bay Ridge Today

The Citizen App shows that the NYPD were on 5th Avenue and 89th Street (near the old Jeep dealership) around 7:00 pm. (See here)

The street was blocked off on both sides by police cars.

It is said that someone shot a gun. There’s no further information about what happened.

The suspects fled the scene in a blue 2006 Nissan Altima southbound on 5th Avenue.

Also note: This is the block where the new school is supposed to go.
