Early Morning Robbery *At Gunpoint* in Bklyn

Around 4:30 am, two men assaulted and robbed a man on 71 Street and Fort Hamilton Parkway in Dyker Heights, Brooklyn.

They took the man’s cell phones. (More info)

The police searched the area, but the thief got away.

Zeus is Missing in Dyker Heights

Zeus is an indoor cat who likes to sneak out. He was last seen on 14th Avenue & 65th Street.

He is new to this neighborhood and definitely doesn’t know where he is. His family really misses him.

Man Shot at on 60th Street and 4th Avenue

Around 4:00 pm, a 49-year-old man was shot at near 4th, Avenue and 60th Street. (More info) A local paper said the man shot himself with a BB gun.

A 49-year-old man shot himself with a BB gun on Fourth Avenue and 60th Street Aug. 8.

He was taken to NYU Langone Hospital-Brooklyn with a small abrasion to the head and was listed in stable condition.

The area was sectioned off by the the police.

The man was brought to NYU Lutheran Hospital and is expected to be okay.

Blood Drive in Bay Ridge, Monday, August 9th

On Monday, August 9th there will be a blood drive truck outside of Good Shepherd Church at 7420 – 4th Avenue from 11:00 am – 5:00 pm.

Greenhouse Cafe continues to support these blood drives and each person donating blood will receive a $10 gift certificate to the Greenhouse Cafe.

Rally Against the Bath Avenue Homeless Shelter is Today – Led by Bill Colton


The people are upset because a shelter for 150 men is being put on Bay 29th Street and Bath Avenue in Brooklyn.

It was raining and they still had a good amount of people turnout.

Chung Ng is Missing from Brooklyn

Chung Ng is an 81-year-old man who went missing from 18th Avenue and 80th Street in Brooklyn yesterday morning, August 7th. It was reported that he was found – he was not as of Sunday at noon.

The missing has Alzheimer’s and may be in need of medical He is 5’6″ 120lbs, with gray hair and brown eyes and has Alzheimer’s.

Chung is wearing a gray t-shirt, black shorts and blue sandals.

A silver alert has been issued for Chung. (See here)

Sunset Park: “Latte Liberals Leave Us Alone”

Are the people that live in a neighborhood deciding what goes on with the neighborhood?

I grew up with Sunset Park and I am surprised what has been allowed to happen in that neighborhood. Rezoning and politicians siding with lobbyists and developers hasn’t helped the area.
