PlugNYC Charging Station For Electric Cars is Not Coming to Bay Ridge

Other parts of NYC are getting PLUGNYC electric chargers, but not Bay Ridge or South Brooklyn. (See info here)

Politicians have been very quiet about this. State Senator Andrew Gounardes should have been all over this as he doesn’t want people to drive large SUVs. He didn’t say a peep. Councilman Brannan didn’t tell his community why they were not included.

Bay Ridge Racetrack Continues – Gounardes’ Sleep Bill is a Flop

Night after night race car drives rev their engines in Bay Ridge.

Senator Andrew Gounardes Sleep Bill is useless because those racing through in the streets don’t care if they get a ticket. For maybe two nights this Summer it was quiet, but the race car drivers continue to zip through the neighborhood.

Gounardes should have know that tickets don’t deter people from continuing to drive like a maniac. Gounardes’ friend, Councilman Justin Brannan received 16 tickets for driving over the speed limit in red camera zones. (See here) People who don’t care about others, don’t have a problem paying a $50 ticket.

The police are fighting crime in Bay Ridge and aren’t available to watch the racetrack.

What Mike DeCillis Won’t Tell You About Resiliency or Gerrymandering in NYC…

Update: Brooklyn was gerrymandered severely. Mike Decillis was on the NYC Districting Commission. Why didn’t he speak up for Brooklyn?

Mike DeCillis is running for Nicole Malliotakis’ seat. Update: Mike Decillis withdrew from the election. (See here)

Mike is busy taking pictures and making videos. We have enough pols doing that already.

This week Mike wanted to talk about resiliency in New York City. NYC Council has a Committee on Resiliency and Waterfronts. Mike knows this, but he isn’t talking about it because Justin Brannan heads the committee. Brannan receives a stipend for heading this committee.

Does Mike think NYC Council’s role didn’t attribute to the problems we have in NYC today? There’s plenty of money in NYC, but it isn’t going to the projects that are necessary for the city, but Mike isn’t talking about that either.

Justin Brannan has been busy pushing a bill for lobbyists in NYC Council. Brannan’s lack of commitment to people and attention to lobbyists is a problem. Now Brannan is running to news outlets and blaming the mayor, but he’s to blame as well.

Why can’t Mike DeCillis speak out against it? Because Mike wants the Democrats support so he won’t criticize them…..not even a little.

We have enough politicians who can’t stand up against the machine. If you are thinking of running for office, be a person who is able to stand up for communities that deserved better.

Fahadi Farms is Out. Coming Soon to Bay Ridge: A Halal Soup Kitchen

I was sad to see the signs on Falahi Farms on 3rd Avenue and 85th Street.

While Falahi Farms is out, a halal soup kitchen, named The Hunger Kitchen is coming into that 85th Street corner storefront. Update: This is not a regular soup kitchen, this is a kitchen for the Muslims Giving Back organization, so they can cook and load up the trucks that go out to homeless sights to feed the NEEDY. There won’t be any lines out the door.

Congratulations to Mohamad Bohe and Muslims Giving Back.

I’m glad to see this group in Bay Ridge. They serve food out of a food truck to anyone who needs a meal. They park outside of the closed pool hall on Ovington Avenue and 5th Avenue.

I consistently see Muslims Giving back stepping up to help others. They go above and beyond to make things right for people who are at a disadvantage. They rally and work hard to help families – not just here in Bay Ridge.

People in NYC Drowned in Their Basement Apartments

People, including a two-year-old child, drowned in the flash flooding two nights ago in Woodside Queens. (See here)

“A 46-year-old woman and her 22-year-old son died when floodwaters rushed into their basement home and trapped them.

NYC was set to have a pilot program in East New York to make basement apartments safer, but the Council gutted the spending during the pandemic and never restored it. (May 2020 – see here)

In September 2020, NYC Council was more interested in studying drones and didn’t do anything to restore the funding for the basement apartment program. (See here) Lobbyists were able to make a push before communities during the pandemic.

Justin Brannan sponsored the lobbyists bill in 2018, the first month he was in office. (See here)

In a 2019 article, it stated: “According to the city’s lobbying database, each of the companies have lobbied the City Council on Brannan’s bill. That seemed to surprise Brannan a bit – “I understand why those guys would support it, but this isn’t like a coordinated effort” – because he hasn’t done much lobbying for the bill. (Source) By 2020, Eric Adams and Justin Brannan were pushing for that drone bill….even during a global pandemic. Government Tech doesn’t mention the lobbyists behind the bill. (See here)

Smoke in the Area – Bay Ridge 1:30 AM

It’s 1:30 am and a lot of emergency response vehicles are on Bay Ridge Avenue (around 10th Avenue) checking for smoke odor in the area. (See here)

Hopefully it was something far away and there aren’t any fires in the area.
