Of course only adopt a kitty if you were planning to get one – don’t give one as a gift to someone who hasn’t planned to get a cat.

2) Food Dynasty is open until 5:00 pm.
3) SuperFresh on Bay Ridge Avenue is open 8:00 am – 7:00 pm.
4) Key food on 3rd Avenue (Near 75th Street) is open 8:00 am – 7:00 pm.
5) Food Emporium 8-5 tomorrow they had their hours posted when I was in today
6) Gourmet Fresh on 86 Street and Fort Hamilton is open

December 19, 2025Bay Ridge Students Get a Speed Bump for Narrows Avenue

After two Xaverian High School students were serious hurt by a car in October, several 7th grade students in Bay Ridge created and shared a petition for a speed bump on Narrows Ave between 81st and 82nd Streets because politicians failed to take action after the accident.
Over 1,300 Bay Ridge residents signed the petition. See their petition: https://is.gd/vuNVru

December 19, 2025Young Woman Robbed on 101st St. and 4th Ave
Around 4:30pm today, a man wearing a mask robbed a young girl on 101st Street and 4th Avenue in Bay Ridge.
The man had black pants with red writing on one leg. He had a black shiny coat.
Prayers for the young woman – what a scary situation.
No warning or heads up from the police or politicians. No message if the perp was caught or not either.

The Bay Ridge St. Patrick’s Day Parade will take place on Sunday, March 22, 2025. This is the 31st year this parade is taking place!

10:00 am Mass at St. Patrick’s Church on 4th Avenue and 95th Street.
Parade Starting Time & Route
The parade starts at 1:00 pm on 3rd Avenue and Marine Avenue.
The parade continues to 3rd Avenue and 67th Street. The grandstand is in front of Greenhouse Cafe.

Best Place to Stand:
Anywhere along Third Avenue. A lot of people like to stand near the Grandstand on 77th Street.
Hang out on 3rd Avenue and 79th Street and watch the parade at The Pour House

December 17, 2025IS 30 Curriculum in the News – Not Accurate

Republican Elise Stefanik is falsely accusing Kathy Hochul of spending one million dollars on Qater’s curriculum and teaching materials for IS 30 in Bay Ridge and other schools in NYC. See news: https://is.gd/zVmL56
Yes, the Qatar Foundation has provided funding to IS 30 (and other NYC public schools) for Arabic programs.

The funding came the Qatar Foundation International, not from the New York State government.
Councilman Justin Brannan and Senator Andrew Gounardes love to go off on Republican politicians on social media, but neither politician has mentioned the inaccuracy in the NY Post’s story because they probably don’t know the curriculum and can’t answer all of Stefanik’s questions, so they just stayed silent as usual.
