Woman Followed and Attacked in Brooklyn on 2/26
A man followed a 28-year-old woman from the 45th Street R train station to her apartment on Saturday at 5:55 am.
He punched the Sunset Park resident several times, but did not sexually assault her. See story here
The woman was brought to the hospital – may she recover quickly.

Vinny shared his love for the Little Library on Shore Road.
I am putting this here so the creator of the box sees that people really appreciate having a Little Library to get books (I don’t know who the stewart of the box is or I would email her.)
Recently, the Little Library on Colonial and 83rd Street had the books thrown into the street and were rained on. While it’s discouraging to see the misuse of the Little Library, know that’s just one bored person. Many people love having the little libraries in the area.

Rape in Bay Ridge on 2/19- Police & Pols Are Silent
Last Saturday, February 19th, a woman was raped on Shore Road and 91st Street at 11:00 am. A week has passed and neither politicians or the 68th Precinct have mentioned this crime. The newspapers have the crime stats, why did they ignore it?
No one needs to discuss the personal details of this crime, but political leaders and the Captain Tolson should have let the community know that it happened and let the community know if the rapist caught or not.
The NYPD Compstat map:
It’s classified as Rape 1 – meaning the rapist used a weapon.
Rape 1: “First degree rape involves forcible compulsion and may occur with the use or threatened use of a deadly weapon, kidnapping, infliction of serious bodily injury to the alleged victim, or burglary.“

The Marshall”s office used to be at 9006 – 5th Avenue.
A small pharmacy has opened here. It’s a good location for a loal pharmacy. The property was advertised at $3200 a month for rent.
The Marshall’s office has been closed for awhile. Where did the marshall move to?

A.B. Liel Insurance on 5th Avenue Closed
I saw the sad building (above) on 5th Avenue and we couldn’t figure out what business used to be there.
A B Liell Insurance Agency at 9004 – 5th Avenue in Bay Ridge is gone.
The building was sold in January for $1.9 million – see blast photos inside the building here

Want to Be on Community Board 10 and Stop Lobbyists and Real Estate Developers From Ruling the Area?
Some situations have come before Community Board 10 – like the school at Nathans.
Local papers didn’t tell us why this location was chosen. The City shared this.
Why didn’t more members of Community Board 10 speak out against this?
Many members on Community Board 10 were put on CB 10 by Councilman Justin Brannan.
We have seen some people writing things like, “It’s good to have a new school.” No it’s not good to have a school in a very busy part of the district when no one has changed the streets. Anyone on CB 10 who allowed this location for a school doesn’t care about the people in this community.
Another school deal with the same owner went down on 5th Avenue. A few CB 10 members questioned the crowded Avenue location, but most did not. (Info here) Those that pushed it through should have stepped down from Community Board 10. The man who was the head of the Education Committee should have stepped down by now. (Info here)
If you want to stop the developers and lobbyists from winning in Bay Ridge Community Board 10 Applications are here and are due on March 4, 2022. Antonio Reyes, the Brooklyn Borough President decides some seats.

Community Boards plays a small role in local government by confirming some plans made by pols. For more info about CB 10 see here.

Assault at the Bay Ridge Avenue Station
Around 8:00 am, a woman was assaulted at the Bay Ridge Avenue Station – R train.
No weapons were involved and the woman did not have serious injuries.
The police have a suspect is in custody – so that’s good!
On Citizen, it says that two men assaulted the woman. It doesn’t say two suspects were arrested – just one.
