The fire spread to the adjacent buildings.

No people were hurt – thank God. Many people posted videos on Citizen here.

The fire went from the restaurant on the first floor to the top floor of the buildings.

It took over an hour and a half for the fire to be put out. It was a windy night, so that didn’t help. The D train skipped the New Utrecht station while the fire was blazing.

May 8, 2022The Prince Hotel in Bay Ridge Is For Sale

2023 UPDATE – THE PRINCE HOTEL HAS BEEN SOLD. (SEE HERE)
I’m surprised the local papers didn’t report about this! Update: I saw found this article later. (See here)

The Prince Hotel at 315 – 93rd Street (off 3rd Avenue) has been for sale since last month.

The 40-room+ hotel and lounge has an asking price of $9,900,000. (See listing) Originally, this building was 20 units, but they divided up the units. (Source)

A developer will probably want this building for condos.

In 2016, the building was supposed to have been sold at auction to pay back fines, but the auction was cancelled.
Residents on 93rd Street are probably hopeful that someone will do something good with the building.

May 7, 2022Hundreds of Bags of Compost Taken in Bay Ridge

Andrew Gounardes was supposed to have a compost giveaway this weekend, but he wrote that a small group of people took hundreds of bags of compost in Brooklyn.
While Gounardes’ messages sounds bad, the event was set for Saturday. People probably showed up on Saturday and saw the bags of compost and thought they were allowed to take an unlimited amount of compost.
