Downtown Brooklyn is not loving the bike lane on Court Street in Carroll Gardens. Sue to gerrymandering, this community has the same senator as Bay Ridge.

Andrew Gounardes has been in office for years and he has never gone to the mat against the high property taxes in Bay Ridge. He hasn’t even tweeted or mentioned them in years! Instead, Gounardes likes the “political banter” and fighting with people on social media.

November 10, 2025Was a Woman Robbed of Her Handbag At Knifepoint on 74th Street in Bay Ridge? Yes. Suspect Apprehended.
The Citizen App is showing that a woman was robbed of her purse at knifepoint on 74th Street and Colonial Road in Bay Ridge. The woman was robbed by a man in a blue plaid shirt and he was carrying a large butcher’s knife. This was seen by Bay Ridge residents.
The 68th Precinct and all the politicians from the area would give a heads up to the women in Bay Ridge, right? NOPE.
Update: The suspect was apprehended by the police on Bay Ridge Parkway between 3rd and 4th Avenues.
The newly elected Councilwoman Kayla Santosuosso will share this and a description of the thieves, right? (Update: No – not a peep)

November 10, 2025Scaffolding Up Around Century’s – CB 10 Says They Were Just Notified of Demolition
On Monday, November 10th, Community Board 10 sent out an email with the above message about just receiving notification about demolition of Century’s on 86th Street.
The scaffolding is already up around the property – CB 10 had to know for awhile because the permit paperwork was filed on 10/27/2025.
The Brooklyn Reporter’s article states that demolition will begin within 60 days.
