June 28, 2022Gravesend Filming in Bay Ridge – Explosion 6/29

The television show, Gravesend will be filming at “the Candy Store” at 550- 65 Street between 5th Avenue and 6th Avenue.
We went to go see the building they would be using on 65th Street next to the highway. When there have been other shows filming in the area, they make the exterior look a store. There wasn’t a cool sign, but there was a nifty newspaper machine for Brooklyn Ace papers.

Community Board 10 shared this information about the filming: The guys firebomb the candy store. Toss firebomb through window. Burn store.
Special effects like this:
10 pm – 12 am Special Effects work. Special one eighth-inch tempered glass window. Breakaway bottle with lit rag, to simulate a Molotov Cocktail, thrown through broken window and propane cannon inside store front projecting 15 ft. fireball outside. A fireball will be occurring between 10pm-12am.
It’s strange no one mentioned this explosion because it will probably make a lot of noise.
** IF YOU HEAR A LOUD SOUND BETWEEN 10 PM AND 12 PM, NOW YOU WILL KNOW WHY.

June 28, 2022Chris McCreight is a District Leaders for AD 46 – The Female District Leader is Dionne Brown-Jordan

McCreight works as the Chief-of-Staff for Justin Brannan and will not call out corruption in our community.
Chris McCreight’s flyers said that he will work on property taxes. He fooled you, Bay Ridge. McCreight has never done anything about property taxes.
Angela Kravtchencko ran independently at first and people were interested in her. When she started appearing with McCreight, she lost credibility. She lost by 95 votes.

Dionne Brown-Jordan is the female district leader. This let’s both sides of the community have a district leader. Let’s see if either of them speak out against corruption or lobbyist control!
Angela shared this on 7/11:

June 28, 2022Mathylde Frontus Won Again, Dionne Brown Jordan

Assemblywoman Mathylde Frontus was declared the winner over Dionne Brown Jordan.
This was a strange election. Dionne Brown Jordan was running for office, but didn’t have a website or any clear goals for the position. There wasn’t even a debate between the candidates. If you are running for an incumbent’s seat, you need to be able to state your case and debate.
Frontus is a worker, so she doesn’t have a hard time at debates. She’s actually gained more supporters at debates because she doesn’t go on attack – states what’s she’s done.
We received flyers from both. But there wasn’t much information about Dionne Brown Jordan.
They stopped posting updates around 11:30 pm.
Frontus has 3522 votes – 65.7% of the vote
Brown Jordan has 1841 votes – 34.3 % of the vote
The Daily News called it a GAPING 2-1 MARGIN.

June 28, 2022Harbor Fitness Put Up Their Sign on 3rd Avenue

Harbor Fitness is opening at 7118 3rd Avenue, where NY Sports Club used to be.
Update: They were going to open right away, but there was a fire at NY Sports Club right before it closed. So the repairs and time needed to update the gym has caused the delay. I heard they were opening in September, but that was just someone saying that – the gym has not made an announcement.
Bay Ridge is excited about this gym opening another location. http://www.harborfitness.com/
