New Cell Phone Repair Store in Bay Ridge

Square Plus is a cell phone repair store. They also sell phone cases and accessories. And they do computer repairs too! 347-305-9599

It’s $80 to have an iPhone 10 screen replaced there.

This new place is next to Something Greek Restaurant on 3rd Avenue and 76th Street.

This used to be an Expedia Cruise booking shop – like a travel agent for cruises. It opened in 2017, but closed during the pandemic. The spot has been empty for awhile, so it’s nice to see a new shop!

Good luck to the new owner! Cell phone screens are always breaking, so the business should do well.

Music From SI is Keeping Bay Ridge Awake

For a past two months on Friday ad Saturday nights, Bay Ridge residents living near Shore Road in the 70’s – 90’s can’t sleep because music is blaring at 4:00 am or 5:00 am.

This weekend, some Ridgites noticed that the music was getting stronger and the sound was reaching as far as 3rd Avenue, as well as causing more vibration in their homes!

People called 311 and their calls were closed minutes after they were reported, while the music continues playing.

Ridgites have complained to the police and councilman, but the music continues because no one has found the music’s location.

One sleep-deprived Ridgite became so frustrated after the complaints about the noise have gone unanswered, he drove to find the origin of the music.

The Ridgite recorded the sound – it’s really loud in Bay Ridge! They are not exaggerating.

Many thought a cruiseship passing by Bay Ridge was causing the noise – it’s not!

The Ridgite shared that the music is coming from the Clifton public parking lot in Staten Island, which is across the water from Shore Road Park.

The music is loud in Staten Island too, but that area is industrial so it isn’t bothering people.

Hopefully, that information can help Ridgites get help and they can get a good night’s sleep again.

Indian Chief Painted On Building in Bay Ridge

Big Chief, a new smoke shop is opened on the corner of 3rd Avenue and 74th Street.

The front door tells visitors to go to the side door.

This is the front of the store:

They had an Indian chief painted on the side of the building to represent their brand. (Seen here)

The bottom of the painting says, “Please Chief Responsibly.”

On Saturday, some people lined up near the side entrance for the grand opening celebration of their shop. (See video)

What was in this location before? Most recently, it was a corner fruit/grocery store. Before that, it was Neugards for many years.

Will people be more upset about another smoke shop – future cannabis dispensary opening in the area or the use of this symbol?
