Little Athens in Bay Ridge is Dog Friendly

The Dog Friendly Club shared that Little Athens Greet Restaurant on 3rd Avenue and 78th Street in Bay Ridge allows dogs to sit with their owners inside the restaurant. I didn’t know that!

Tourists Robbed at 25th St. Station in Sunset Park

Two tourists from Sweden were robbed on Christmas Day at the 25th Street station in Sunset Park, Brooklyn. (See story)

Tourists probably think there is a chance they will get robbed in NYC.

There were probably more tourists who got robbed this year, but they didn’t report it.

Host Bay Ridge Danny at Your House for 12 Days

Danny is a snuggly lovebug kitty who is great with humans, but not great with other cats. Danny is with a foster through Itty Bitty Kitty rescue. That person is traveling for the first two weeks of January, so Danny needs a temporary home.

Danny is 1.5 years, neutered, up to date on vaccines, FIV negative and affectionate. He’s very vocal. He is very quick to adapt and wants to just crawl in your lap or on your chest and stay there for as long as you will let him. Contact Itty Bitty Kitty here.

People on the Floor of the Train at the 137th Street Station – NYPD Ready to Shoot

The NYPD were at the 137th Street station in Manhattan with guns drawn on Christmas Eve. A man using TikTok shared a video of the incident.

The police yelled, “Move. Get on the Floor.” The people on the 1 train got down on the gross subway floor. I haven’t found a newspaper with the story yet.

Flipped Vehicle on 92nd Street in Bay Ridge

Around 2:30 pm today, a driver flipped their vehicle on 92nd Street and Fort Hamilton Parkway. The passengers were able to get out of the vehicle.

Emergency response vehicles were all over to assist and turn the vehicle upright. (See video)

Traffic Light Not Working 86th St. & 4th Avenue

The traffic light is not working at the intersection on 86th and 4th Avenue. (Comments left here say that traffic lights weren’t working on Friday too.)

Last year, when it was cold these lights stopped working too.

Usually the police direct traffic when this happens, but it’s Christmas Eve. Be careful!

Merry Christmas to the Queen of Christmas in Brooklyn, Lucy Spata

Lucy Spata is the Queen of Christmas in Brooklyn!

Her house is known as the “Nutcracker House” and she’s been decorating since the 1986, when she moved to Dyker Heights with her husband.

Spata’s decorations encouraged her neighbors to decorate and then the neighborhood became known as Dyker Lights.

Even when her husband passed away, she continued to decorate because she promised him she would.
