Santa Will Be Outside St. Pats on Tuesday, December 16th at 7:00 pm. Fireworks Too.

This is one of the best events in Bay Ridge during Christmas time. I first saw it during Covid and it was magical.

Santa rides the sled down 4th Avenue to St. Pats. The children are amazed. And then there are fireworks (don’t worry they are short).

Is the Bay Ridge Cannabis Dispensary Coming to 5th Avenue?

Community Board 10 Police and Public Safety discussed another cannabis dispensary which is planning on opening at 7119 – 5th Avenue in Bay Ridge (where Bay Ridge Rx currently exists…and the best notary in the area is in that pharmacy).

The meeting was strange because at first they said there was a verbal agreement for the location – then they said there was lease. There is currently one owner, but they expect there to be three owners (two partners were on Zoom).

Community Board 10’s committee gives a lot of time to new cannabis shops. In fact, CB 10’s only success may be in approving cannabis shops. They rarely discuss public safety, even after two high school students were hurt in our area.

One CB 10 measured the distance to the cannabis shop from Lutheran Elementary school – it is 490 feet away (I think that is what was said) from this cannabis shop’s location. CB 10 spoke about the new high school’s location.

There is another dispensary being planned for 800 feet away from this location. CB 10 said it has to be 1000 feet away. The applicant said that OCM will determine if a cannabis shop can open there.

The applicant was not happy that CB 10 wasn’t excited about their shop opening.

CB 10 voted to give a negative opinion for the shop.

On Monday, December 15th, there will be a full Community Board 10 vote at the Norwegian Christian Home at 1250 – 67th Street
at 7:00 pm.

3rd Avenue Winter Stroll – December 13th & 14th

Years ago, there was a Santa on the trolley in Bay Ridge.

Now Maimonides is running the trolley on 3rd Avenue from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm and giving out a tote (something is strange about this).

Two More Rapes in Bay Ridge – Kayla Santosuosso is Silent

The sixteenth and seventeenth rape happened in Bay Ridge and there isn’t a woman or man who is speaking up for women in this community.

Councilman Brannan and Andrew Gounardes do not feel the public has the right to know that a rape happened or if the rapists have been caught. 17 rapes!

Kayla Santosuosso was elected, but she just wants to take pictures of Christmas tree lightings to post on social media instead of talking about safety.

Santosuosso has been silent for years as rapes increased in our area. What’s wrong with the politicians in this community?

Rape 1 was reported on December 3rd

Rape 1 was reported on December 6th:

There were also four other sex crimes in our area this week:

Seventeen rapes this year in the 68th Precinct.

Pete’s Pizzeria $18 a Pie on 3rd Ave. in Bay Ridge

If your favorite pizzeria is charging almost $30 a pie, give Tony’s Pizzeria at 7522 – 3rd Avenue a try. (John L’s recommendation.)

The large cheese pie is $18. It’s $1.50 for a topping on half the pie and $3.00 for the topping on the whole pie.

There is a hero special on Tuesday nights.

And Wednesday is two for one past 2 for 1 pasta night.
