Assemblyman Brook-Krasny Shows He Isn’t Silent About Crime in Bay Ridge – Thieves Arrested

The local councilman and senator don’t think people should know that a senior has been robbed or that the police captured the teen thieves.

It’s much better that people know so they can be aware of the hotspots in the area.

Thank you to our new Assemblyman for sharing this information and to the NYPD for capturing the teen thieves.

Republicans Running for District 47 Council Seat

There are a lot of challengers on this year’s list because many people realize a hands-on representative is needed in our community.

Anthony Batista Perez is the only Democrat who challenged Justin Brannan, so he will be on the primary ballot starting with early voting Saturday, June 17, 2023 – Sunday, June 25, 2023 (Tuesday, June 27th is the official voting day

In alphabetical order, these are the Republicans who will be on the primary ballot in June:

1) Anna Belfiore-Delfaus is currently a special education teacher, who is be focusing on education, crime and safe neighborhoods. Belfiore-Delfaus is taking questions on Twitter. She was asked about vaccine mandates here. Bay Ridge has never been represented by a female.

Anna shared this video:

2) Ari Kagan – Ari Kagan is the NYC Councilman whose been cleaning up 86th Street under the L (and he’s doing a good job there because he’s been persistent). Like us, redistricting left Kagan at a disadvantage. Most notable: Since he’s in office, we can look at his money and compare it to Brannan’s. His campaign FB page is here.

3) Avery Pereira – All around good guy, Avery Pereira could be trusted to stay focused on this area and avoid lobbyists nonsense.

Pereira has spoken out about cutting wasteful spending. (See here) Avery believes that NYC workers who were fired for not getting the Covid vaccine, should be rehired. Most notable: He’s trustworthy.

4) Michael Ragusa – Mike is high energy and very focused on problems in our community. His concentration will be on safer streets, homelessness, education and improving the business climate. (More info here) Ragusa recently had a fundraiser and raised more money than any of the other candidates in this quarter. Most notable: He’s all over the district, from Bay Ridge to Coney Island. We need someone who walks around the community.

Bing Bong Dyker Heights 13th Ave. & 78th Street

Josephine shared this picture tonight.

This is not the same vehicle – it’s a new eye sore for Dyker Heights.

This vehicle was in an accident. You can see the A pillar (where the front of the door would mount) is smashed in.

This picture was taken in front of the new pot shop on 13th Avenue and 78th Street.

This vehicle also has no tickets.

Keep sharing pictures Brooklyn. No one would believe what goes on here. And elect new people!

95th Street Pharmacy is Opening on 3rd Avenue

Hello 95th Street Pharmacy!

This new pharmacy is on 95th Street and 3rd Avenue, yes across the street is Walgreens Pharmacy. The phone number on the sign is 347-497-5232.

You might be thinking, “Why would a pharmacy compete with Walgreens?” It won’t.

This pharmacy will be for all the people who loved Ridge Pharmacy and being able to talk with a pharmacist and get some personal help. People love small shops!

Hopefully, items won’t be locked down like they are at Walgreens.

Capital One Bank used to be in this location until they left in the Spring of 2019. This store front was the campaign headquarters of Justin Brannan when he ran for re-election.

We are glad to see this corner will be very vibrant (The Wicked Monk next door keeps this street looking beautiful with flags, decorations and painted windows!)

Bus Riders Sound Off for the Last Stop Deli Stop

The MTA is eliminating bus stops and making the distance between bus stops longer. (Bus Bunching)

The Last Stop Deli on 4th Avenue and 100th Street will no longer be the last stop for the bus.

Here’s the problem with that: residents like stopping there and bus drivers like stopping there to get a drink and a snack.

There’s a petition to stop the bus changes – here.

If you take the bus, there will be virtual meetings about the changes (See meeting list) and register for the meeting here.

Community Board 10 will be advocating for service near the new senior senior center.
