Johnathan Rose’s developers at 9000 Shore Hill did not receive approval from Community Board 10, so they are appealing to NYC’s BSA (Board of Standards and Appeals).
United Neighbors of Bay Ridge is asking for Bay Ridge’s help. UNBR is composed of people who live in the area – these are not experts or attorneys.
Please write to the BSA to help them AND SHARE THEIR LETTER to other Bay Ridge neighbors so everyone in Bay Ridge knows. (LINK)

Jonathan Rose’s developers presented last Spring – (See here) They said they were going to make changes to their plans.
In November 2022, they returned and showed that they made very little changes to the plans. They also presented parking information that didn’t match the neighborhood. (See here)

April 10, 2023Bay Ridge is Invited to the Interviews for the 68th Precinct Commanding Officer
On Wednesday, April 12th, everyone is invited to the interview for the two finalist for the position of Commanding Officer of the 68th Precinct by the Chief of the Department.
It’s at 7:00 pm on Zoom.
We’ve never see anything like this before, so it will be interesting.
While they didn’t ask, I sent in my question. Let’s see how open they are to the public participation.

April 9, 2023Pier 69 Fire on Bay Ridge Avenue Off Shore Rd – Kitchen Destroyed by Fire
Around 6:30 pm tonight, firefighters put out a fire at 10 Bay Ridge Avenue near Shore Rd. (More info)
Thankfully, no one was hurt.
On the first floor is where the fire started at pier 69 Market – their kitchen was destroyed by the fire. A Go Fund Me was set up here.

April 9, 2023Coney Island Man Murdered on Easter Sunday
Early this afternoon, a 23-year-old man was found stabbed in the torso in Coney Island. (Info and here)
The man was originally assaulted on West 36th Street and Mermaid Avenue in Coney Island.
The man was brought to NYU Langone and pronounced dead.
RIP.

A small black and white dog was found on 71st Street and Narrows Avenue. (Info) Some good people are taking care of the dog.
The finder shared that dog is very matted.
Proof of ownership is needed.

April 8, 2023Wanted for John Sarquiz’ Death in Dyker Heights
All the newspapers had the story. This is the man wanted for John Sarquiz’ murder. (See here, here and here) The Daily News gives the most info about this man – this man had 17 prior arrests. (See here)
He is still on the loose and can do the same thing to anyone in the community. The police need help locating him.
This man sucker-punched Sarquiz from behind and then repeatedly kicked him when he was on the ground. Sarquiz died five days later.

Not one politician bothered to share the information from the police to the community. The local papers – Brooklyn Reporter, Eagle and Brooklyn Paper didn’t carry the story.
