O’Sullivan’s Last Day in Business in Bay Ridge

O’Sullivan’s Pub on 3rd Avenue and 89th is closing for good today.
They had cut back on hours, so we knew it was only a matter of time. :(
O’Sullivans has been open in Bay Ridge for 89 years. Denis O’Sullivan (grandfather to Frank O’Sullivan) opened the bar in 1934, after immigrating to America from Ireland. He passed it to his son. And later it was passed to Frank and his brother-in-law, Richie O’Donnell.
This was a great place, where many good stories and laughs were shared for so many people in this neighborhood.
All the best to the O’Sullivan family! We always had a good time at O’Sullivan’s.

May 28, 2023I Love Pentecost Sunday

Pentecost Sunday is an underrated day in the Catholic Churches in New York.

I’ve celebrated Pentecost Sunday in other states and it is a BIG DAY for the Church – as it should be!

While I am not the best Christian, I am certain that the Holy Spirit exists.

If you ever have dark day, where a miracle is needed, call on the Holy Spirit.
Jesus said to them again, “Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, so I send you.” When he had said this, he breathed on them and said to them, “Receive the Holy Spirit.” (John 20)

Jack captured the Vegas Dinner perfectly! What a beautiful piece and a great reminder of the many memories that people have at that dinner!
