July 11, 2023Ammar Brothers Opened on 5th Ave in Bay Ridge

The Bay Ridge BID shared that Ammar Brothers opened at 7816 – 5th Avenue.
This new store is between Rocco’s Pizzeria and Joe’s Appliance store. They sell gifts, home, decor, honey, nuts and spices!
Congratulations to the Ammar brothers on their new store!
This used to be a produce store.

People who have gone there love it – not just the food, but their bar and the atmosphere too!

Bay Ridge residents are patiently waiting for Malone’s Chophouse at 9519 – 3rd Avenue to open.
Malone’s shared a photo of one of their dishes (pictured above) This is: “thick-cut smoked bacon with a homemade peanut butter & granny smith apple jelly.”
Malone’s also shared that they are using Pat LaFrieda steaks:

Finally, the restaurant hinted that their projected opening date is July 30th, but that depends on paperwork bring processed by the city.

July 10, 2023Police Officer Got Glass in His Eye Because Thief Smashed a Window

Three thieves stole from a store in Williamsburg tonight.
Three suspects were arrested and one of them smashed a window. The glass from the window got in the police officer’s eyes.
In the last video below, you can see the officer sitting in the ambulance and they are trying to remove the glass. They brought him to the hospital. Hopefully his eye is going to be alright.

July 10, 2023Prayers for The Saeidi’s Family in Bay Ridge

On Saturday, July 8th, Hamoud Ali Saeidi, an 86-year-old man in Queens, who was randomly killed by a 25-year-old scooter rider while walking to his mosque. (Info)

Prayers for Hamoud Saeidi‘s family, who live in Bay Ridge. Hamoud Saeidi was married for almost 60 years and he and his wife had six children, 30 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren. (Source)
Death is awful, but this 100x’s worse because his life was taken from him. Gothamist spoke with Hamoud’s son who said: “This person did not kill my father only,” said Main Saeidi, one of Hamoud’s four sons, outside the Beit El-Maqdis Islamic Center in Bay Ridge. He killed everybody in the community. He killed the whole family.” (Source)
Hamoud Saeidi’s funeral was today. Mayor Adams attended the service at the mosque. (Video here)

The man shown in the photo above robbed Veterans Convenience Store on Veterans Road West near Bloomingdale Road in Staten Island around 10:40 pm on Saturday, July 8th. (Story here) Is that a real gun?
Someone has to know this guy.

On July 8th, Bassam Khateeb, a 35-year-old deli worker was killed after being shot by the men shown below. (See here)

The shootings are happening more rapidly now and people aren’t shocked by it. : (

July 10, 2023Target at Ceasar’s Bay – Everything is Locked Up

Assemblyman Lester Chang shared a video from Target in Cesar’s Bay. There’s aisles of locked cases so thieves can’t rob the store. But this makes shopping annoying too.
I captured this footage at a chain store in Brooklyn. Everything is locked up, probably because of the 44%?? in shoplifting from last year!

July 10, 2023Dudes Partying Every Morning at Dyker Park – Residents Report to 311 & Calls Are Closed

What’s happening to Dyker Park? Residents are reporting that there is an early morning at Dyker Park every morning while children are in the park.
Residents reported this to 311 and their calls are closed without the NYPD investigating.

Since it’s Summer, there are children in the park, so these guys can’t get wasted here. The police have to respond to the 311 call and move them along.
