Panda Sneaker Cleaning Shop in Sunset Park

Panda Sneaker Cleaning Shop is at 509 – 59th Street. It’s across the street from OLPH Church (close to the pharmacy on 5th Avenue.)

I had no idea that this type of shop existed in the area. They were able to restore a pair of sneakers to look like new!

They will even pick up shoes if you are in 1.5 miles and have at least two pairs to clean.

Smaller Garbage Cans on Street Corners

Smaller garbage cans are appearing on some corners of 3rd Avenue. Who thought this was a good idea?

Old garbage can fills us fast. Larger cans were needed.

On the new can, the side opens and the can comes out. Those hinges are going to rust and the doors will be left open. It’s not better.

There is a large sized can that many parts of NYC got and that would be better for 3rd Avenue, where there is pedestrian garbage and also household garbage because some apartments have strict rules about when garbage can be put out.

One of the most beautiful stores opened in Bay Ridge!

Fiona’s House opened at 559 – 86th Street. From the moment you walk in, you see beautiful flowers and items nicely arranged all around the store!

I met Fiona, the owner! She is warm and welcoming. And her flowers are so fresh!

I’m so glad she chose Bay Ridge to open her beautiful shop!

This is what you see when you walk in:

This charming Valentine’s Day cart had so many different succulents!

There is also art, artificial flower arrangements and gifts!

Congratulations Fiona! Bay Ridge, head over to Fiona’s House and get some beautiful flowers for yourself!

What It Looks Like When Your Council Representative Works For the Community:

Councilman Robert Holden from Masbeth, Queens shared that he had a commercial truck removed from a residential street.

For one truck, Holden raised his voice and it was removed!

In June 2022, Andrew Gounardes and Justin Brannan told us they were going to clear the trailers and commercial trucks on Poly Place…..and now it is even worse. (See here)

These men don’t follow through and keep their word. The 68th Precinct Captain told us the parking was going to be changed in that area…yet nothing was done.
