Lester Chang Shared His Votes on the Budget

Assemblyman Lester Chang shared his votes on the budget.

All politicians should be sharing this information on their social media. We don’t need to see pictures of politicians feet, their lunch or them clowning around. We need to know if they are representing Brooklynites.

Owls Head Park Was Cleaned Well

Owls Head Park is looking sharp! NYC Parks Department did some deep cleaning like someone was having a wedding or gala at the park this weekend!

Look at all of those full bags of garbage! The park was spotless – no paper, wrappers or plastic anywhere!

The Parks Department has a few piles of mulch that they were distributing out throughout the park. It looks nice:

Minimart on 86th Street Robbed at Gunpoint

On Wednesday evening around 10:00 pm, the Minimart on 86th Street near 6th Avenue was robbed at gunpoint by two men.

After demanding the money, the men drove away in a blue Hyundai. (News)

The store said that $2,000 in cash was taken.

DON’T WORRY…..SOMEONE WILL SAY CRIME IS DOWN. Not one politician representing Bay Ridge mentioned this robbery.

Other Robberies on 86th Street in Bay Ridge:

On April 3rd, the smoke shop at 8711- 5th Avenue was robbed for the second time. (Info)

At the end of January, the Exotics Shop at 557 – 86th Street was robbed for the second time. (Info)

Families Need Answers From Visitation Academy

On February 6th, Visitation Academy in Bay Ridge announced they were closing the school and monastery and selling the property. (Info) Parents chose Visitation Academy for their daughters, so Visitation should take the time to help and communicate better with these families now.

In both news stories this week, the parents of Visitation students want to keep the school open. They are willing to raise money for the school. (See videos here and here) Many parents just want answers as they are hearing different things.

For some students at Visitation, this will be the second school closure they are going through (as they attended Visitation when they elementary school closed.)

In March, Fontbonne High School announced they will have a middle school program for the students from Visitation. (Info here)

Last October, parents raised over $100,000 for the school. Why did the school ask parents to raise money if they were closing? (See video)

Visitation School should call the parents in and set up a Zoom Meeting for those who can’t attend.

Let the parents ask all the questions they have. The school should be frank with the parents because the parents don’t understand what is going on. Many parents want to know if they could have raise enough money to keep the school open.

I’m surprised that the Bishop Robert J. Brennan didn’t call the families together and pray with them.

The Bay Ridge Community is bracing for the worst. This school is in the center of a quiet area.

We all know what happened at Angel Guardian Home. The Sisters of Mercy were part of that community for over 100 years and then they just cashed out. They went silent and they didn’t care what happened to the building/property or groups connected to Angel Guardian Home. (See here)

Politicians acted as if they were concerned about landmarking. (See here) If you see the building now, landmarking did nothing to stop the overdevelopment around it.
