5/26/24 – Hooray Ninja was found.
Ninja was lost on 65th Street between 2nd and 3rd Avenues in Brooklyn.
One of Ninja’s humans passed away recently and Ninja has been sitting by the window waiting for them to come home.

May 18, 202468th Pct – National Night Out Against Crime 8/6
The 68th Precinct is having the National Night Out Against Crime on Tuesday, August 6th from 6:00 – 9:00 pm outside of 333-65th Street.
This is a free event with food, drinks (soda/water), music, raffles and giveaways. The NYPD shares information with the community.

It’s baby Lantern fly season. They look like small spiders now.
In an empty spray bottle, mix half vinegar and half Dawn dish soap. Spray at Lantern flies.
Vinegar can kill grass and other plants, so if they are near something you like, mix Dawn dish soap with water and spray.

At 2:00 pm today, several hundred Palestinians met in Bay Ridge for Nakba 76. (See live video here)

Palestinians of all ages were present to peacefully protest.
The people didn’t like being in one area, so Nerdeen Kiswani, the head of From Within Our Lifetime chanted:

New grievances from the pro-Hamas crowd, chanting like drones, on the streets – well, sidewalks- of NYC:

Before the march, some people put bike locks on the police barricades. This makes people less sympathetic to their cause because the police are doing their job.
There were a lot of police officers on bicycle this year. (See video)
Also different this year, journalist, Katie Smith showed that the police were on the rooftops (See video) and fire escapes (see video) Last year, protesters were on some fire escapes and rooftops.
Around 5:00 pm, it was raining and the crowd, most entirely made up of teens and people in their 20’s were angry.
There was a huge police presence – it wasn’t just the 68th Precinct officers. Some men threw mangos at the police. (See video) Police in riot gear showed up. In October, when there was a Palestinian protest, protesters were arrested, so the police were prepared. (See here)
The crowd divided up and marched down residential streets chanting. Helicopters and the police stayed with them.
Some people were arrested for lighting flares. (See here) Others were arrested for not listening when the police asked them to get out of the street and go to the sidewalk.

May 18, 2024Nine-Year-Old Girl Groped on the Way to School on 8th Avenue and 59th Street on 5/16 at 7:30am
On Thursday morning, a nine-year-old girl was touched over her clothing by a man on 59th Street and 8th Avenue (the police shared 9th Avenue) in Sunset Park, Brooklyn. Then the man ran away. (See news here and here)
The police have shared the photos above.
Why haven’t politicians from this area shared the man’s photo so parents are aware?

#1 Campania Apple Salad – So delicious! Campania’s salad is good!
#2 Blood orange arugula Fennel Salad from Amuni.
#3 The Kettle Black 8622 3rd Avenue has a good chicken Cesar Salad
#4 The Wicked Monk’s Cobb Salad
#5 Greenhouse Cafe’s Chicken Cesar Salad
#6 Panentico House Salad is delicious (grilled veggies with balsamic glaze) – order the small because it is pretty big.
#7 Pegasus Greek Salad with Mediterranean Dressing or Cobb Salad
#8 Baby Olive -Corner of 86th Street and 14th Avenue. I get the Baby Phil, the Powerhouse or Baby Laurie – see choices here
#9 Nature’s Grill guadalajara salad with chicken
#10 Gino’s Pizzeria – (pictured above) Mesclun Salad with Grilled Peaches, Cherry Tomatoes and Blueberries in a Mango Vinaigrette (comes on the side) topped with Goat Cheese. Nice summer salad. (718) 748-1698

May 17, 2024Volunteer to Prepare Food Tonight in Bay Ridge
Holy Cross Church will be feeding the homeless in Manhattan tonight, Friday May 17th.
If you want to volunteer to help prepare the food, meet in the basement of Holy Cross Church at 8401 Ridge Blvd at 8:00 pm. Those delivering food will leave by 9:30 pm to distribute the food.
They have been doing these Homeless Midnight Runs for several years.
