Get a Bus to Atlantic City From Bay Ridge, Brooklyn
Where can I get a bus in Bay Ridge
to go to Atlantic City Casinos?
These are all the ways we know how to get to Atlantic City from Bay Ridge or nearby in Brooklyn:
1) SGS Travelscope has been doing one-day round trips to Atlantic City on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays for many years. Currently tickets are $5.00 off the normal rate. On Friday and Saturday, a ticket cost $54.99 (and you get $25 back). On Sunday, the cost is $49.99 (and you get $25 back). Here are the times for the morning bus stops:
75th Street and Bay Parkway (8:10 am)
75th Street and 18th Avenue(8:15 am)
75th Street and 13th Avenue(8:15 am)
69th and 5th (outside Mikes Donuts at 8:20 am)
93rd Street and 3rd Avenue (8:30 am)
In the evening, you would board the bus to leave Alantic City around 6:00 – 6:30pm and arrive back in Bay Ridge around 8:30 – 9:00 pm. Call SGS Travelscape or Book Online here to reserve your spot on the bus : 718-339-2928 $59 Roundtrip ($25 in slot credit when you arrive)
Does SVS Travelscape have overnight trips? No, but some people use their bus when they ave been comp’ed an overnight stay. That means you can book the bus back for the next day (or a few days later). It’s $87 through SVG – Book it here
Where can you purchase a ticket for the Atlantic City from Bay Ridge?
These places sell tickets for same day return.
Mike’s Donuts on 3rd Avenue and Bay Ridge Avenue (across the street from the Alpine Theater sells tickets for SGS’s bus to Atlantic City. (SGS Travelscope’s stops are listed above)
The store on the corner of 72 Street and 3rd Avenue – BR BR BR. They have a sign in the window. Ask the guy at the counter. The bus picks you up on 75 St and 3rd Avenue.
DOES NOT SELL ANY LONGER: 9116 Smoke (when it was Sapan Convenience Store the guy sold the tickets, but he retired) at 9116 – 3rd Avenue.
United Mini Mart at 8123 3rd Avenue sells the tickets (3rd Avenue and 81st Street) it’s across the street diagonally from Brooklyn Market
Candy Shop Inc. 9305 – 3rd Avenue sells bus tickets
*Children are not allowed on the bus.
2) Every Sunday, Arlene has a bus with multiple locations for pickup. *People Love This Bus Ride.* Oldies music and bingo is played on the way there. On the way back, a movie is shown. $45 ($30 slot play from Caesar’s). Call 718-234-1888.
Other areas with buses to Atlantic City:
1) Sunset Park
a) Fortune Bakery on 8th Avenue and 56th Street sells tickets and the bus stops here. The advertisement is in the window at the bottom right of this photo. They give you $25 back in slot game credit and $25 in table game credit. (** Someone went with them and did not receive the $25 or anything back)
Buses leave in:
A) The morning:
8:30 am to Bally’s and Caesars – returns at 3:00 pm
9:30 am to Caesars and Harrah’s – returns at 4:30 pm
10:30 am to Bally’s – returns at 5:30 pm
B) Afternoon
12:15 pm to Caesars – returns at 7:30 pm
C) Evening:
7:15 pm to Bally’s – returns at 11:00 am
9:00 pm to Caesar’s – returns at 4:30 am
b) Coach buses leave from 8th Avenue daily – it stops at 58th and 8th Avenue (across the street from Chase Bank). The ticket was $25 dollars (don’t know the 2024 rate). The ticket is good for 3 days. This bus has a 24-hour schedule. Some people said they stayed overnight and returned a different day ($23 return ticket) The bus stops on 8th Avenue and 62nd Street near the train station.

3)Manhattan:
a) NJ Transit Express Bus Service to Atlantic City – get tickets from NY Port Authority Bus Terminal (if you feel it’s safe). $42.00
b) Online, you can book a bus from “Our Bus” to Cesar’s, Tropicana or Resorts Casino in Atlantic City ($28 each way plus $7.24 in fees. Roundtrip total: $70.22.) (See here)
**People have said that Our Bus cost $44 round trip with $20 back, but I haven’t found the store that has that deal.
The Churches in the area also do trips regularly:

1) Saint Pats in Bay Ridge takes trips to Atlantic City every few months – 718-238-2600 to find out the next trip.

2) Saint Ephrem Friendship Club goes to Atlantic City in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. Call 347-267-3644

3) Saint Finbar – They go every other month. Bus leaves at 9:00 am outside of St. Finbar’s church. 718-236-1407.

4) Saint Athanasius Rosary Society goes to Atlantic City. . Barbara 718-331-8544 can tell you the next date for a trip. Meet at 8:45 am on Bay Parkway (bus leaves at 9:00 am sharp). Get to Atlantic City at 11:30 am. Enjoy your day. Meet at 5:30 pm for the bus. Arrive at 8:00 back in Brooklyn.
5) OLPH – Sister Lucille organizes it. 347-603-3738 for the next trip.
6) The Fort Hamilton Senior Center at 9941 Fort Hamilton goes to Bally’s regularly – they leave at 9:00 am, but you can’t park in the lot. Call Frank 917-971-7067.

Statue Removed From Visitation – Returned
Bay Ridge residents were sad to see a statue at Visitation leaving the grounds this week.
The school shared that the statue of St. Rita was returned to the family that donated it:
People pray to St. Rita when they are hopeless – she’s the patron saint of impossible, difficult or hopeless causes.

The storefront at 34 – 86th Street in Bay Ridge has a new sign that says 304 Convenience Coming Soon.
Is it still the same owners of Gelato because they had a lease? (Info on what happened to Gelato)

A Senior Citizen Punched in the Head on Sunday on 4th Avenue and 96th Street in Bay Ridge
A 72-year-old woman was walking on 4th Avenue and 96th Street on Sunday, May 5th at 4:50 pm. A man punched her in the back of the head!
Our neighbor “suffered bleeding and swelling to her head.” She was brought to Maimonides Medical Center in stable condition.” (Source)
The NYPD shared this photo of the suspect:

The suspect is around 5’11” and was last seen wearing a black skull cap, black jacket, black pants and gray and white sneakers.”
The suspect ran towards 97th Street and 4th Avenue.

Three days later, the information was on the news, but no one shared it in our community. (See news)
This happened near St. Patrick’s Church, so the information should have been shared with the church as well. Women should be aware that that this happened, so they are alert and check their surroundings.
We didn’t have any politicians communicate with the community that this happened. Mrs. Gounardes and Mrs. Brannan shouldn’t be the only women in our community who are aware of this assault.
Whose speaking with the police and not giving a ‘heads up’ to the community. We don’t need to hear “Crime is down” from anyone when someone hurt a woman in our community.
We need new elected leaders that are focused on the community!
As we saw at the last Community Board 10 Meeting no one knows whom the Community Affairs officer from the 68th Precinct is. There is no officer present at the CB 10 Meetings any longer.
Why can they tell us this on social media, but not that a woman was attacked? In Fort Greene, Brooklyn a 71-year-old woman was punched on Friday. (See here)
