Andrew Gounardes is So Disconnected From The District

Around 11:00 this morning, a 53-year-old man was slashed in the neck outside of 258 Schermerhorn Street. The man was taken to Methodist Hospital. (See here)

NYS Assemblymember Joann Simon wrote about it on social media (See Above). Andrew Gounardes, who also represents the area didn’t say anything. Andrew ignores crime and violence. Gounardes acts as if nothing happened.

Three months after NYS defunded some afterschool programs in Bay Ridge ad Dyker Heights, Gounardes wrote this:

The senator did not attend the rally in #BayRidge to support the families. Gounardes did not protest in Albany either.

James Keenaghan Remembered One Year Later…

(Press Play)

It’s been a fast year. James Keenaghan of Kitty Kiernan’s died a year ago today.

I miss talking to him and hearing him tell a funny story.

When the neighborhood loses one of these Bay Ridginals with huge personalities, everyone misses them and remembers them.

This years 3rd Avenue Festival ends on 94th Street. Can you imagine being a party person and the party ends three blocks before your bar?

RIP James.

Burmese Harp: New Burmese and Japanese Place on 4th Avenue Between 85th Street in Bay Ridge

Photo: Vladimir C.

The Burmese Harp is opened at 8510 – 4th Avenue! They prepare Burmese food, which is food from Myanmar, which was formerly called Burma.

This restaurant also serves Japanese food and people are enjoying the sushi.

This is a small restaurant with four tables. Two of the tables have two chairs AND two of the tables have four chairs.

Erik said the Shan Noodles were fantastic:

Many people have shared pictures and raved about the pickled tea leaf salad. Eater did a thorough review of the new restaurant and has a photo (here).

Brooklyn residents also like this ten-piece fried vegetable fritter plate that was served with tamarind Chili sauce.

Their noodle soups will be great in a few weeks when it gets chillier.

Mohinga, a fish soup is the national dish of Myanmar. It is a rice noodle fish soup with ginger, lemongrass, garlic, peppers and rice flour. The Burmese Harp’s mohinga is very creamy.

Some of the noodle soups, such as the coconut noodle soup with chicken, have a fish sauce. Kyae Ohh Noodles is a soup with fish balls. But the Chicken Tapioca Soup does not have fish or fish sauce.

Lan Thai used to be in this location. Before Lan Thai was the well-loved, Top Thai used to be there.

Tires Stolen in Dyker Heights 85th St. & 10th

The wheels were stolen off of this SUV parked on 85th Street and 10th Avenue last night.

Imagine how awful it must have been for the owner to step outside and see his car resting on bricks and milk crates!

The thief was seen on video taking his time removing the wheels from the vehicle.

There has to be police patrolling the neighborhood. The thieves are not afraid of being caught.

Before you go: Don’t forget to say, “Crime is down.”
