November 1, 2024Crash on Bay Ridge Parkway and 4th Avenue

Photo: Jenni K.
Jenni K. shared this picture taken around 8:00 am this morning on Bay Ridge Parkway and 4th Avenue. The crash knocked out the street light.
There was a crash on June 11th here and the streetlight across the street from here got knocked down.
A left turn signal for cars is needed here because pedestrians have not felt safe here for years.

From Senator to Bay Ridge Avenue on 4th Avenue needs to be studied. Andrew Gounardes and Justin Brannan don’t understand what needs to be done. A 61-year-old woman was killed when walking on Senator and 4th Avenue in July 2023 and the politicians failed to take action. (See news)

November 1, 2024Isaac Regnier From Bay Ridge Gets NYC Students a Day Off From School

NY Post picture
Isaac Regnier, an 8th grade student from Bay Ridge must be hero at his school. The NYC school calendar showed Monday, December 23, 2024 as a school day. Last Spring, Isaac called and emailed the Mayor and the NYC Chancellor, but did not get a response. So Issac took action and made a petition on Change.org. Almost 23,000 people signed it. (See petition)

This week, Mayor Adams called Isaac at his school and told Isaac that he was successful – Winter Break will have one more day because closed on Monday, December 23rd. (See story)
Thank you, Isaac Regnier!

November 1, 2024Vito LaBella is Against the City of Yes. Andrew Gounardes Supports the City of Yes

Vito LaBella submitted this testimony against the City of Yes. Andrew Gounardes quietly supported the City of Yes. At the St. Anselm Meeting, Andrew Gounardes was there with his baseball cap on, but did not speak.

If you think the City of Yes is bad, wait until you see Andrew Gounardes’ video about Faith Based Housing (See here)

Andrew Gounardes has been too interested in what lobbyists want.
a) Community Board 10 heard a presentation from one company about car sharing. Get Around, a new car-sharing company was given street parking on several streets in Bay Ridge. Our community already had several car-sharing companies that rented lots in the area. Community Board 10 did not reveal that Andrew Gounardes supported this company. (See here) The company didn’t survive in NYC. This video shows why Gounardes should not be a senator: (See here)

Justin Brannan made Bay Ridge lose parking because he was lobbied over loading zones. (See here) CB 10 spoke about the loading zones, but did not mention Brannan and the lobbyists. Like Gounardes’ GetAround Cars, CB 10 was not allowed to vote on this either.
b) Red Light Camera company, American Traffic Solutions (More info here)

c) Donations from the Tebele Family – Brooklyn Marine Terminal Task Force- Andrew Gounardes should recuse himself because he accepted this money. Charles Tebele is on the EDC. (See here)

d) Last November, Andrew Gounardes and Grubhub were in political pac against Bay Ridge. Both Grubhub and Gounardes (as well as others) contributed $5000 each to make a campaign against Justin Brannan’s opponent. Gounardes was not transparent about this PAC. He is listed below as Andrew for New You. Look at the other groups who are involved:

e) Andrew Gounardes gave a $50,000 check to New Yorkers Against Violence. That week, the group was giving out endorsements to Democrats. When Faridun Mavlonov was shot and killed on 20th Avenue and 63rd Street, there was no New Yorkers Against Violence or Moms Demand Action in Brooklyn. Andrew Gounades didn’t do anything with Iwen Chu. (Info)

f) Why did Andrew Gounardes accept money from the Greater New York Auto Dealers Association Political Action Committee to represent car dealerships? Is this why dealership vehicles are parked all over our community? On Poly Place, Gounardes told the community that the vehicles would be removed, but he never took action on that street.

November 1, 2024Is Fishing Happening at the Mailbox on 3rd Avenue and 84th Street or the Mail Facility?

A Bay Ridge resident shared that he recently mailed a check to a charity. He put the envelope in the blue mailbox on the corner of 3rd Avenue and 84th Street in Bay Ridge. Thank you to this neighbor for sharing this information!

The Bay Ridge resident was contacted by his bank because his stolen checks were listed for sale on the Dark Web. Checks are sold to thieves who whitewash them to use. The resident was lucky because the bank was able to cancel the account number before anything was done.
This resident told the police and the police did not seem to care. He also reported it to the Postal Inspector.
A few weeks ago, there was a note on the two mailboxes on 75th and 5th Avenue in Bay Ridge also saying that checks were stolen! More residents were trying to give neighbors a heads-up that thieves have targeted these boxes with glue and they are stealing checks.
The Post Office is going to want to take away these boxes, but people in our community use these boxes. A clever Bay Ridge woman (with beautiful hair) recommended that the mailboxes be secured in indoor locations, like banks.

October 31, 2024Eight Million for a Generic Park Setup at Russell Petersen Playground in Bay Ridge?

Is Justin Brannan laughing because eight million dollars is being spent on a generic park setup?
Eight million dollars is too much to pay.

The parks Brannan has been involved with look like they come from a kit, while other new parks in NYC look amazing. (See here)
