March 24, 2026Police Chase on 86th Street – The Down 3rd
The NYPD chased a car down 86th Street at 2:40 pm today. This is dismissal time for schools, so a lot of Ridgites were concerned.
The vehicle and police turned onto 3rd Avenue and drove towards 87th Street.
Many residents heard the commotion and saw the vehicle with the damaged front fender and front wheel hanging off (like it had been in an accident). The car was also smoking.

March 24, 2026A Woman Was Raped – Kayla Santosuosso Was Silent
On March 16th, a woman was raped (or reported a rape) in the 68th Precinct.
Coucnilwoman Kayla Santosuosso did not speak out for this woman. Same old same politicians.
It’s very sad that a woman was hurt in our area.

March 24, 2026A 20-Year-Old Muslim Woman Was Attacked in Sunset Park Because of Hate
A 20-year-old woman was ssitting waiting for the train at the 9th Avenue train station in Sunset Park/Borough Park (39th Street).
A man sitting on the same bench started ranting anti-Islamic slurs and then threw the woman to the ground. How disgusting!

On Wednesday, March 25th is Greek Independence Day.
In Bay Ridge, every year there is a wonderful parade/procession in the street at 11:00 am that starts at DGK School at 8502 Ridge Blvd.
Go see it – even if you aren’t Greek, you will like it!

March 24, 2026Gounardes and DiNapoli Not Forthcoming With Information for Brooklyn Residents
Over two decades ago, a smart NYS Comptroller named Alan Hevesi made a database where people could search for dormant or abandoned bank accounts. He put the Unclaimed Funds database on his website: https://ouf.osc.ny.gov/app/claim-search
How do I know about Hevesi and his website? My brother was a CPA and showed that website to everyone. Tom DiNapoli, the current NYS Comptroller hasn’t made any upgrades to the websitte, except put his name/picture.
Senator Andrew Gounardes had his office create the graphic above without including that website address. Gounardes’s staff thinks this is new information, but it isn’t. People can easily use the website without assistance or needing to go to Gounardes’ office (but they don’t want you to know that).
A NYS Senator is supposed to be fighting for us in Albany, not making silly graphics or videos for social media. Gounardes isn’t doing his job – that’s why our community is still paying more than two times the property taxes. In November, vote Gounardes out!
