Fifth Avenue Festival in Bay Ridge – Sunday, May 31, 2026
2) Blood Drive at St. Bernadette’s at 8201 – 13th Avenue from 8:30 am – 1:00 pm. **There is a blood shortage in NY.**
3) The 6th Annual Running for Success 5k is at 10:00 am. This is a fundraiser that will send young runners to summer running camp. The race begins and ends at the end of Bay Parkway by Target. All registered runners will receive a free slice of pizza after the race. The first 100 registered runners will receive a tech race shirt and a free ride on Coney Island’s Wonder Wheel. 4) Redhook Ship is open for a tour from 9:00am – 12:00 pm.

Man Spitting on 86th Street in Bay Ridge
A Bay Ridge resident shared that a man asked her for money on 86th Street tonight by the bus stop – outside of Panda Garden. She told the man she didn’t have any money and he spit in her face.
The man walked down the block and asked a young girl for money. He spit in her face when she didn’t give him any.
The man’s description: He is an older, short, white guy that walks with a limp. He was wearing a light green short sleeve tee shirt, dark grey shorts with a white stripe on each side of the shorts, long black socks and black slippers.

RIP – 37-Year-Old Man Killed By Co-worker Driving Van
Early this week, a man backed up his vehicle and killed a 37-year-old man. Then he drove forward and hit a parked Toyota Camry. Then he drove away. News:

The 37-year-old victim was brought to the hospital and died.
There were eyewitnesses and the police were able to contact the man and have him to return to the scene. The man was arrested around 9:00 pm.
