A 15-year-old teen named Izabela is missing from Gravesend, Brooklyn. This was first shared on the Citizen App on 5/24/26. She was last seen at 2727 Ocean Parkway on 5/19/26.

Yesterday, a local baker named Cecilia gave away a cake she made. She posted it on the Facebook group, Bay Ridge Buy Nothing and she was glad so many people were excited about the cake.
Every month, Cecilia is going to give away one birthday cake to someone in Bay Ridge! This is one of the cute cakes she designed:

May 21, 2026Please Write Against the 3rd Avenue Truck Route
Every month it seems like someone new has another bad plan to run in Bay Ridge.
NYC wanted to expand the truck route from Sunset Park to Bay Ridge on 3rd Avenue. This expansion would allow not only allow deliveries, but also full-sized tractor trailers traveling on 3rd and on 86th Street.
The 3rd Avenue Merchants are against this expansion and Community Board 10 voted to oppose this project.

May 20, 2026Plants Stolen in Bay Ridge and Then Returned
A gardener on 72nd Street and 5th Avenue was not happy when they saw the pots outside their home empty. They checked their RING cameras and saw a person stealing their plants.
They wrote a note and put it in their planter. They also posted it on Facebook. The person was going to share their RING photos if the plants weren’t returned.
The plants were returned in a bag:
It’s sad that things have gotten so bad that people are taking plants. We are glad this Ridgite got their plants back, but sorry that they have to replant everything again.

May 20, 2026H&L Bagels Is Back Open- Get Your Bagels
Update: H&L Bagels is back open and Ridgites are happy again.
H&L Bagels on 3rd Avenue between 88th and 89th Streets is a lot of people’s favorite bagel shop in Bay Ridge because they serve great bagels and coffee.
When the shop had a ‘Closed Today’ sign on up on Wednesday and Thursday, 5/20 and 5/21, Ridgites were unhappy. Someone shared that the air conditioning was not working.
