New Donut Shop in Bay Ridge – Darn Donuts
Edit – November 22 – Opened this weekend – 87th Street and 4th Avenue
Are they good? People like them.
The donuts are large – like one and half times a regular donut so bring someone with you to share it. The donut above is strawberry cheesecake. It has like a tablespoon of thick cream cheese inside and the strawberry preserves and the white frosting on the outside $2.50 The plainer donuts with vanilla or chocolate frosting and sprinkles cost $2.00
They are a bit oilier and denser than a regular donut.
The place was busy when we stopped in.

October 9, 2015Brooklyn Republican Party – Strange Happenings
The Brooklyn Republican Party has some problems.
Craig Eaton, the Chairman stepped down and Arnaldo Ferraro was elected to the new Chairman.
But there were hundreds of proxy votes that were tossed out and somehow Senator Marty Golden is involved in this, yet he wasn’t running for chairman, some guy name Ted Ghorra was. Get the story here and there’s more info over here.

October 9, 2015NY and NJ Drivers Pay 1/3 of All Tolls
The Daily News reported that NY and NJ drivers pay 1/3 o all tolls in the United States. Thank you Senator Golden and Nicole Malliotakis for doing nothing for two years while trying to make people think they are being effective by posting a petition online to lower the toll.
For two years they were unsuccessful because they really didn’t do anything other than have a staff member post the poll.
Thank you to our local papers who continue to write nonsense and tell us how much Golden and Malliotakis are doing for us when all they are doing is taking some pictures near the bridge and posting a Google Form online. When Golden wants a bill to go through, he doesn’t do it with Malliotakis because it doesn’t go through. This year Golden and Cusick’s Education Tax Credit bill caused a lot of commotion.

October 7, 201568th Precinct Goes Pink
The 68th Precinct located at 333 – 65th Street went pink for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. But why? The precinct has never gone pink before. Is someone who works there battling cancer or did they just need to give some people something to do. It probably wasn’t the best plan because now someone has to paint it back in November (a relatively cold month).
And if the Explorers are painting it, is that really living up to the objective of having Explorers? The NYPD Explorers was set up to teach 14-20 year olds about law enforcement.
How the precinct looks regularly:
The Twitter Account for the NYPD 68th Precinct posted this today:
It’s nice I guess, but I think there are probably a lot more important things the 68th Precinct could be doing for our community. There are also these posts: here and here.
