Officer Moira Smith’s Husband Returns Award

Interesting article in the NY Post (Is that really possible?) about Officer Moira Smith’s husband returning an award to Glamour Magazine because Caitlyn Jenner was recently honored.  Police Officer Moira Smith died in the World Trade Center – (see more info here). Her husband, James Smith returned the Woman of the Year Award he accepted in her honor. He sent a letter to Glamour to Magazine – you can see his letter here and here

Moira Smith was from Bay Ridge. 74th Street was renamed in her honor – see here.

Hinch’s Resaurant becomes Stewarts – Simple Menu

First it was Hinch’s – the ice cream parlor/sandwich shop that we all knew as kids.

A few years ago Logue sold it and the store was renamed Mike’s Hinch’s.

It was sold again and now Hinch’s became Stewarts – a chain ice cream parlor/sandwich shop. See the menu.

Comfortable Teacher Shoes

Comfortable shoes are essential for teaching. This year I found Cobb Hill shoes by New Balance. Yup that’s the secret to them – they are made by a sneaker company.

The shoes are priced around $100 – $150. Amazon runs pretty good deals on them, but the best deals at at 6PM .  Newbalance.com sells them at full price too

Cobble Hill shoes are comfortable when you first start wearing them – there is no break in time. Who has time to break in shoes?

This is Cobble Hill’s Darcy which is awesome.

Oh yeah this is my own review. Newbalance doesn’t know the queenoftheclick and I have to buy my own shoes just like you.

I don’t know if the staff at Moses and Singer check their name online, but I hope they do.

Something was posted on my blog and I noticed that it’s coming from your IP – so you need to monitor what your employees are doing because they obviously aren’t doing your work.

Dan Donovan Robocall Survey Can’t Be Accurate

Dan Donovan robocalled us yesterday with a survey. And we received the same robocall today.  Thanks for calling me on Veteran’s Day, Congressman!

Both days we voted that we are not in favor of Dan Donovan’s work. He is rarely in Brooklyn and sends a representative who lives in Brooklyn to meetings. People didn’t vote for her to be their representative, so Donovan should be showing up for Brooklyn events.

The questions for the survey made it sound like Dan Donovan doesn’t really know the community he represents.

Some questions were skewed towards Donovan such as stating that “Donovan didn’t vote with his party on the Trans-Pacific Partnership.” Do you think Donovan should  vote with his party? Most people receiving this call wouldn’t know what the Trans-Pacific Partnership was.

There was a question about abortion – support it, against it or support it with limitations.

There were questions about immigration and education for children of illegal immigrants.

Funniest question: Do you think that Dan Donovan should do his job in Albany OR talk to residents in Staten Island and Brooklyn. God forbid he do both!

The survey gave five topics and asked you to choose the one most important to you. Recession of the Middle Class was not on Donovan’s list, so I chose Transportation (the bridge toll is crazy, everyone hates the R train because it hasn’t been maintained or upgraded and streets in general could use some work).

The survey asked if Senior Citizen issues were important.

Finally, the survey asked if I owned a small business with less than 500 employees (yes or no) my age and sex.

Donovan’s robovallsurvey won’t be accurate because I answered it twice and both times it thanked me for taking the survey.  This woman also got multiple calls from Donovan’s office.
