October 16, 2016Pollution in Coney Island and No One Cares
Coney Island has become so polluted because no one cares about it. There’s dumping right outside the MTA.
This is right off the street.
Tires all over the place.

Halloween Decorations
Dyker Heights beats Bay Ridge in decorations this year (and last too).
- Dyker Frights is located at 1123 – 79th Street. You don’t go into their house, but they have a scary scene set up. Dyker Frights doesn’t cost anything, although they do sell items to raise money for a charity. It’s open everyday and it’s great to drive by, but on Halloween or the weekend before Halloween, it’s worth a stop to walk around because the owners are a bit more interactive with the audience. It’s best seen at night because they have Halloween lights and some of their items glow. There is a small house in front of the staircase that you can stop by and look into. See here:
Smaller displays to drive by and see in Bay Ridge:
- Corner of 97th Street and Marine Avenue
- 223 – 96th Street
- Corner of 88th and Colonial Road

October 9, 2016Coney Island Creek is a Toilet Bowl
Coney Island Creek is a toilet bowl. It’s a creek. No one should be fishing or getting in that water for religious reasons.
I saw Coney Island Creek up close 10 years ago and I would compare it to the Gowanas Canal – it was filthy. It’s not a beach or a small lake where children could play in.
When you see Mark Treyger’s finger up, you know he is being disingenuous. Every discussion this man makes can’t involve finger pointing. The water at the Coney Island Creek has been dirty for over 10 years. Treyger is claiming that he is in the dark.
200,000 Pounds of waste was added to the water PER DAY
Is Treyger punishing the culprit? Nope – no talk of fines or anything like that. Just finger pointing and pretending to be concerned. “Fifteen buildings—a total of 990 apartments—were sending 200,000 gallons of sewage per day into a storm sewer that discharges directly into the waterway.” Why isn’t Treyger going after these building owners?
If you are a leader of the area and don’t know this, maybe you should stop playing with the developers and take time to know your area. The theatrics is strange, but something is not right about Treyger’s speech (listen from 1:00 – slurred?)
Treyger shouldn’t be asking what’s been dumped there, he should make sure no one is eating food from there! In 2015, residents complained about the smell and there was a meeting. So why is Treyger complaining like he didn’t know the water was being polluted. Disingenuous

October 8, 2016RIP Jennifer Cohen, Bay Ridge
2019 Update is below
A woman was murdered in Owls Head Park on September 29, 2016 before 5:00 am. Jennifer Cohen’s body was found beaten to death at the skatepark by a jogger. “She had severe head and face trauma and “multiple lacerations” to her head.” (Source) She was only 35 years old. See here and here.
Jennifer Cohen didn’t have the easiest life. She was addicted to drugs and she was arrested two dozen times (source). Cohen was last arrested on September 26th, two days before she was found dead.
Jennifer Cohen is the mother of two children. Many prayers for her family.

March 2017 – Cohen’s killer still has not been found. No justice for Jennifer.
Jennifer was with the man below. He’s 5’9″ 175 pounds. . More about the suspect is here.
“A video puts the man on 79th Street and Third Avenue in Brooklyn, then traveling more than a mile to 56th Street, before backtracking and connecting with Cohen near 59th Street and 2nd Avenue, then circling back toward the Owl Head Park. Cameras captured the two entering the park together around 2:40 a.m. About an hour later, the man is recorded again exiting alone.“ (Source)
In 2019, Billy Jensen set out to solve her murder. See here Jensen is the host of a true-crime podcast “The Murder Squad” with criminal investigator Paul Holes. He made this Facebook Group – see here

October 8, 2016Four Men Shot in Bay Ridge this Morning
Four men were shot early this morning outside M&S Mini Market (called Deli by the news) on the corner of 73rd Street and Third Avenue around 4 am (one of the men worked at the deli and on the news the cashier said the other three men were customers of the deli). The cashier fell to the floor when he heard the shots so he didn’t see anything else.
Yeah we aren’t immune to things like this in Bay Ridge – it’s still NYC.
The news is saying that the assailants were masked – locals said they didn’t hear about masks – they are not – see pics below. News story here
The news also shared that the assailants came from the bar.
Locals are saying that the cops were searching the flower containers outside the store (the corner store sells cut flowers).
All men are alive and went to the hospital. No one has been arrested for this yet, but there is video and the police are on the hunt!

October 7, 2016Jesse Watters – Not Funny At All
While O’Reilly Factor Correspondent, Jesse Watters thinks bothering Chinese grandmas and grandpas is funny, I don’t. If you watch the video, every person he spoke to was kind to him even though he was being an obnoxious jerk. .
How is bothering someone’s grandparents funny?
I don’t think too many Asians are offended by Watters because they are busy taking over the world and getting ahead in life. They have no time for a wanna-be comic. In a few years, when Watters tries to work for a network, he will be denied a position because the Asian network president will remember his name :)
