Empire Knife Club Meets in Sunset Park

I had no idea that there was a Knife Club that met in Brooklyn each month. The Empire Knife Club of New York meets once a month at 7pm at the GJOA Sporting Club, 850 62nd Street in Brooklyn.
Local knife enthusiasts, dealers, collectors and makers have been gathering for 18 years in Brooklyn. Membership $25 a year.

Sorry we’re not into socialism. We’re into hard work and saving our pennies. We support healthcare for all and the government assisting those in need, BUT SOCIALISM…..C’MON.

Glad to see that their are names on the event and that it wasn’t well attended. Funny part: you could have paid $5 to $20 to get in……so richer socialists have to pay more AND that’s not really socialism, is it?

Also glad to see the Socialism specials for the evening: $4 bottles and cans, $4 Miller draft,and $5 shots. Isn’t that the regular price for cheap Miller beer?
Not crazy about the Socialists in Bay Ridge because they are backing El-Yateem for City Council, even though (click here) El-Yateem has some unexplained issues with money and the drug rehab in Bay Ridge.
The only thing I appreciate the Socialist of Bay Ridge for is making Bob Capano (click here) whine on social media. It’s mildly funny.

Eid ul Fitr Celebration at Cesear Bay Bazaar
Happy Eid to all who are celebrating today.

Remember there are Eid ul Fitr celebrations today in the park because Muslims pray together today and there isn’t enough room in the mosques.
The park near Cesear’s Bay always has a large gathering so avoid the Belt Parkway because it will be packed with people.
Tomorrow is still Eid, so there is no parking (meters still in effect though).
I didn’t see any video from the area around Cesear Bay, but there was THIS VIDEO (Click here) of Muslims in Brooklyn praying.

John Quaglione Can’t Find Any Graffiti in Bay Ridge so He Goes to 17th Avenue to Photograph It

As soon as I saw this picture, I thought: “I bet Marty Golden’s District ends at 16th Avenue.” I don’t actually know the district lines, but I tried the address from the blue awning in the picture 7903 – 17th Avenue in this website and of course that’s Senator Diane Savino’s area. Then I tried 16th Avenue and that’s part of Senator Golden’s District.

John Quaglione knows 17th Avenue is Senator Savino’s district. He had no problem stepping on her to promote himself with a photo on social media. This was just a sneaky pol trick and it tells us that John Quaglione has been in politics too long.

Quaglione’s been photographing graffiti for years. Taking a picture of graffiti does nothing! The same finger that snaps a picture can easily press the spray can trigger. Quaglione can ask Marco at Marty Golden’s office to do it. Marco doesn’t stand around taking pictures, he does something about the graffiti. Marty even cleans the graffiti sometimes. Yet, John Quaglione loves to whine about graffiti – see here, here and here.
Bay Ridge has plenty of store fronts that Quaglione could have taken a picture, but he didn’t. Why? Because that would be saying that Quaglione and Marty Golden aren’t doing their job.

Is Liam McCabe an Election Bitty?

Why would McCabe care about the Republican Party/Ted Ghorra? Ghorra/the Republican Party chose not to endorse any candidate until after the primary election and that has sent a message.

The Republian Party has endorsed Conservatives, rather than Republicans and that shows the weakness of the Republican Party AND whose really running the Republican Party.
Here’s the real question: Why hasn’t the Brooklyn Conservative Party endorsed McCabe – they have known him for many years? They endorsed here and here. McCabe was a Conservative until this November. If McCabe remained a Conservative, would he have received the endorsement?

Tacos El Nopal – New Mexican Restaurant
Tacos El Nopal is opening at 8321 – 5th Avenue where Chiquitita Mexican Grill used to be.
Nopal is a type of cactus that is used in Mexican dishes. The menu looks different for a Mexican restaurant, but this is a type of chain restaurant. They have brunch, burgers and pasta too.

Garbage Pickup in Bay Ridge only for Lucky Duckies
If the two guys who love their job as sanitation men visit your block, then your garbage gets picked up AND b0nus – they pull over while they are picking up so that cars can go through during the busy morning hours. 80% of the time we get these guys so we know we are lucky duckies.
If you get stuck behind a sanitation truck, you are probably behind the two guys who don’t like their job and are miserable so they will share their misery with you. As you sit behind the truck being an unlucky ducky, you contemplate all the questions that most NY’ers who are stuck behind a garbage truck think:
a) Why are they picking up garbage during the same time most NY’ers are going to work? Doesn’t anyone know how to manage this better?
b) Why is the driver of the truck not helping the other guy? (Imagine having to work with that jerk?)
c) Why is the truck split into two sections when they need to pick up sofas and furniture? Dyker Heights complained about this here
D) Let’s go back to having three sanitation workers if they have to do this during the morning hours so we can get down the block. Yes, there used to be three sanitation workers per truck years ago.
So as you can tell I have had my share of being an unlucky ducky stuck behind the garbage truck.
Here’s some unlucky duckies in Bay Ridge who have to look at their neighbors old sofa on the sidewalk everyday because there isn’t enough room in the new style trucks.

Test Prep for the TACHS is at Bishop Kearney High School – Bay Parkway and 60th Street. Classes are held on Tuesdays from 4-6pm. $250
