March 25, 2026Pipe Bomb Found in Gravesend Apartment

This morning, a pipe bomb was removed from a Gravesend apartment at 2525 West 2nd St. in Gravesend (near Avenue Y).
Homeland Security was at the apartment with a search warrant for illegal firearms (a ghost gun) and they found the pipe bomb. Story:
The people living at the apartment building in Gravesend were evacuated and the street was sectioned off so the NYPD Bomb Squad could remove the device.
One person was taken into custody.

Congratulations to the owners of The Wicked Monk! They are opening a second location in Staten Island in the Fall.
Staten Island needs a great Irish Bar!
I have loved The Wicked Monk since they were on 5th Avenue and I was a kid. I always have a great time at The Monk.
I don’t like Staten Island, but I can’t wait to see their new place, the decor and especially the new ceiling they put up. If you have been to The Wicked Monk in Bay Ridge, you know they have a hand-painted ceiling.

Dr. Liming He (aka Larry He) is running against Senator Steve Chan.
Larry was seen at the 79th street D train station hanging his posters.
Liming He is the chief-of-staff to Bill Colton. Why doesn’t he know that politicians aren’t allowed to hang posters at subway stations?
Because the rules don’t apply to some politicians!
Last June, Larry He made the newspaper because he resigned from his position as Andrew Cuomo’s Asian Outreach Director after he was questioned about his past. The journalist, Will Bredderman wrote that Larry He worked for companies tied to the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). See this article:

March 24, 2026Two Teenage Girls Were Shot in Coney Island
Around 4:30 pm this afternoon, two teenage girls were shot outside of McDonalds on Mermaid Avenue in Coney Island.. News:

A 16-year-old teen was shot in the leg and a 14-year-old was shot in the foot.
No one has beern arrested yet. The police are still investigating.
Assemblyman Alec Brook-Krasny shared that the teens had non-life-threatening injuries and they were taken to the hospital.

March 24, 2026Police Chase on 86th Street – The Down 3rd
The NYPD chased a car down 86th Street at 2:40 pm today. This is dismissal time for schools, so a lot of Ridgites were concerned.
The vehicle and police turned onto 3rd Avenue and drove towards 87th Street.
Many residents heard the commotion and saw the vehicle with the damaged front fender and front wheel hanging off (like it had been in an accident). The car was also smoking.
