August 1, 2017Pigeons in Bay Ridge
Over the weekend, we walked past a house and a flock of birds flew up in the air in front of us in a creepy way. I looked around and realized the area had way too many pigeons. We didn’t see them when we were talking because they were on the roof of this home.
People are feeding the birds near Foodtown because they are animal lovers and want to be helpful, but I bet the people who live in that home don’t like it (unless of course they are feeding the birds).Years ago, we fed the birds too. BIG MISTAKE. Birds invite their whole family to the party and soon we had 50 birds in our tree. They ruffled their feathers when anyone walked by. It was creepy, like a scene from the movie, The Birds. We had to put metallic tape in the tree to get them to leave (birds don’t like reflective surfaces).

*** THIS BUSINESS CLOSED ***
When we need something for the garden and fast, it’s easy to drive up to the Brooklyn Wholesale Market and get what we need. For years I called it Aniello’s because it has a sign for Aniello’s wine outside (see pic at the bottom).
This nursery is located at 641 Ovington Avenue. Everyone forgets about it because it is on 7th Avenue.
